Ultimate Combat Ship

I thought money wasn't an issue so why are people limiting themselves to an Anaconda, when they can have a Capital ship modified to equip an A20 shield generator? :p

I would just turn off the PA for a second then turn Life support on, top up on air then turn back off and PA back on :D

Not working. Only docking replenishes oxygen. Silly as that is, since when the life support is powered it should refill too. But as it is, turning off life support to manage energy puts you on the timer.

You cant top off the air supply. You need to enter a station to do that. Outposts do not resupply the air as well. Unless something has changed over the last month?

I feel safer when I combat-equip my Anaconda, but I do not kill any faster than in my Python, in which I feel more than safe enough :)
The Huge hardpoint and the two small ones on the rear underbelly are not making a significant difference in dps due to maneuverability. But you feel vastly superior in most 1on1's for sure; You mostly do in a Python also, though.

Had a couple of Anacondas (not at the same time). They may be flying fortresses but they were simply just too big. The Fer de Lance was good when I had it and I'm currently quite happy in my Python (it's fully kitted). The only problem I have is in CZs when multiple NPCs will suddenly start attacking at once. Can only attack one at a time while the others hammer my defenses. Is there a better solution than just to boost out before the shields are toast?

I'm no rookie (Thanks 1.2 Wings for making a fighter out of me) and have already achieved "Deadly" rank. But I just can't seem to figure out how to quickly deal with a multiple NPC attack.

bring a wing man or lead them into friendly forces and hope they catch the aggro from you. Otherwise, this has been a problem for me, often I will casually stroll out of the firing range of my allies only to end up being swarmed by eagles, pythons, anaconda's that randomly spawn around me

With the CZ setup I run on the conda the turrets can fire indefinitely with just 2 pips so I will just armour up (4 pips SYS) and look for what's dealing the most damage and give it a nice PA ball to the face and repeat

Curious to what you have on your clipper :p Im running this for ramming at RES zones ;) http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=703,7Px7Px7OX7OX0_g0_g0_g0_g,319Y9Y7_8S9Y8S6k,7Vs0AA7go7go4zM5DI5Bk9qm Nothing like doing 90% hull damage in one screaming ram (With those cannons too of course)

Edit: Swap one of those A shield boosters to a D class kill warrant scanner

Now that's an interesting way to go about it. Pretty much the same but with lasers/multicannons instead and a 6A FCB instead of cargo.

I don't actually run any cargo in my build because this is my "Toy" ship and my goal isn't making money or being productive, I've got an anaconda for that =p

I have the cargo-rack on it as I recently changed pledges to Duval and all my ships are currently at the founders world and im not spending the day moving them to a new place so currently transported my combat Conda and Clipper so I have no cargo ship (Anaconda has no racks) So I use the clipper for intel runs for some merits but may switch for more SCB's or a scoop (The 3A scoop is painful after using a 6B so long :p)

If money was not a problem and you could buy anything from the shops what would be the best all round combat ship. Would it be a max Python or Anaconda. Matter of fact does anybody have a 300 million combat Conda. Wondered if there was any setup that could cope with multiple pythons or vultures for instance.

I recently sold a reasonably well spec'd combat Python (worth about Cr140M) and upgraded my Trade-Conda to this:

I only play PvE/ solo, in a Hi-RES or Hi-CZ it is an utterly unstoppable beast.

People talk about sub-system vulnerability. I wouldn't know the shields last forever. The turrets rinse multiple small fighters automatically whilst I use the Class 3 beam and the cannons to bring down large ships. Handling multiple NPC Vultures and Python's is not a problem.

Tbh it gets a bit too easy. I often go back to my Eagle for combat as it offers obviously very different challenges.

So to answer your question I own a 300M conda and it is a tank. Yes, I know you can spend more so if money is no object it has even more potency. For PvE personally I don't think anything could better it.
I'm sure PvP players will make the usual boasts and against me they'd probably be right. But if both pilots were equally highly skilled I believe the one in the conda would beat any other ship.
As they say in rugby a "good big 'un beats a good little 'un".

Here is one of my Anacondas. For combat only, nothing else. Power management is necessary. The AFMU and SCB are off except for one SCB. Still fiddling with the weapon load out, as well as if I need that many SCB, as well as the shield boosters. The ship can handle it, so why not. Only used the PA about 6 times, really not necessary unless its a wing with another Anaconda. At just over 600m, it is a beast, but not invincible. Its a beast to pilot, so now I am practicing my FAO with it. Its a bit easier then the T9, but drifts down quite a bit, most likely from the hull layout.

Now that's a nice ship!

I heard a rumour Darth Vader asked to borrow it?
