Um... Officer... Check for Friendly fire!

So I've recently been using the X52 Pro and loving it (except for the ****ing Drivers) and have moved into combat in Solo, however System Security sees me as a threat despite not being Wanted after shooting down hostile pilots. I'm learning to check my fire around other pilots but System Security keeps coming after me.

What are the rules that they use to determine who to engage?

Make sure the hostile pilots are actually Wanted. They may show as hostile to you because of your reputation with their faction, even if they are not Wanted.

Make sure the Wanted ships are not in the same faction as the security forces.

AI and IFF are pretty wonky still. You can do everything right and still get the occasional crazy cop trying to kill you for no reason, or a random Clean ship trying to do the same.

Yeah I just noticed that as I checked my target and his target and IMMEDIATELY had FSS on my 6 when my target was shooting a Clean target when I fired in the Clean target's defense.

Sometimes they attack for nothing. I seen this quite a lot so its pretty common. I had a few attack me saying crime detected, but there was no crime committed, zero bounty. Bug or mistaken identity.
