Unable to change HUD color - any input appreciated

I am a HUD-color junkie, and always working on the best combination for my HUD. I have changed the color scheme countless times in the GraphicsConfiguration.xml, always needing to tweak a bit here, a bit there.

Well, now suddenly my HUD colors won't change anymore no matter what I do. I can put in any parameters in the xml, but it has no effect on my HUD; it stays the same as it was the last time I successfully changed it. I have tried to delete the xml-file and re-sync my gamefiles with the server, getting a "clean" GraphicsConfiguration.xml, and the colors still won't change! Even though the values clearly do not match the actual HUD colors displayed.

Before I go to the step of removing the game, downloading a new installer and install from scratch, I thought I should check with you guys if you have experienced something like this and know how to fix it.

Any thoughts and inputs are greatly appreciated.

Check to make sure you don't have the graphics override file. They introduced it in 1.2 (can't remember what the filename or location was... something like graphicsoverride.xml) - this file will overwrite your normal graphics xml file

That or two identical folders with GraphicsConfiguration.xml somehow and you are changing the one that isn't taken into account when loading game.

Even with a lot of fiddling I don't know if it can happen, just thoughts ^^'

Yea what Flappers said, it LL either be on your app data > frontier or C:frontier folder if I remember correctly

Yes, are you're sure you're not modifying the file in an old beta folder? or the one from the cross platform PC-Mac folder?

And we have a WINNER!!!

Thank you very much for your enlightenment!
It was under \Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics, and is making sure that the HUD colors stay the same between updates..
Silly me for not knowing that, even though I read through the patch changes and all.

All is well that ends well!

Thanks again :)

No problem! Glad I could help :)

I have this same problem, except I have tried editing the override file (which wasn't originally there and I had to put there.) It still doesn't work, and all I see is orange.

damn I first changed the File wich Is In the Appdata graphicConfig but Still nothing I tried going to the graphicsOverride put my change there still nothing at all No matter what I do :/

Me too have problems changing the HUD colour. I've done all tricks that I know of, but it still stays with the default orange/red theme.

Yeah I've got this problem, I changed the HUD settings in the xml file in both the ED program folder and the override file in users\...\Frontier Developments
And I've still got orange...
I read somewhere it might be the version i got and if i get Horizons this won't be a problems

Problem with editing the values is even though it may look cool... it can be a hindrance. Everything changes but nothing can be singled out. Often times the cooler/nicer looking schemes end up making things hard to decipher on the map and worst cases you cant really tell if someone is hostile until they shoot you.
