Unable to install on Windows 10

Hi All,

I am playing with Windows 10 Tech Preview and am trying to install Elite Dangerous. However I load up the launcher, and after a view moments (between 10-60 seconds) the launcher just quits. No error, no crash warning, it just stops.

I realize that Win10 is in TP so obviously there will be problems, just thought I would put it out there :)

Wait a new Windows OS that has a few issues? I never saw that coming.
It's not even new yet, it's pre-new and I seriously wondered what OP expected when he installed a beta OS on his computer. Too much time on his hands?

Before everyone chimes in with all their sarcasm and cynicism, give the guy a break, he's just trying to let everyone know there's a problem. :)

Isn't that what people do when they Alpha/Beta/Gamma test things? The information doesn't hurt anyone and he isn't complaining, I'm sure he expected it and is just letting people know.

I've seen a few players in the Support subforum who are running ED on Win10 ok. Ask the forum mods to move this thread there

Oh cool - I never thought to try it on Win 10. Is the driver support OK? I know yours is messed up a the moment, but definitely interested in how you get on.

Why the hate? I said in my post "I realize that Win10 is in TP so obviously there will be problems". I was just thought some might like to know that I have issues with installing it to maybe save them the time. But thank you, I'll think better of trying to help in the future.

The 'hate' is a cynical comment on the fact that no Windows OS is worth installing until its been live for at least 6 months and has had 1 (preferably 2) service pack updates. As such, I find it impressive that a pre-release test version actually works at all.

Aside from my ED issue, no major problems. At first boot the machine picked up my 3 monitors and extended the desktop across them. Though had to install AMDs drivers to get Eyefinity working.

Nice, would you say it runs better, worse, or the same? I said I wouldn't upgrade from 7 until 10 and here we are.

Its the OS win 8 should have been, runs as good as win7 with all the sparkle of win 8. Will be there best in my opinion when it comes out and I don't care if I cope flack for saying that either.

Indeed, no need to for this.
But on the other hand, dont install software/games on a non finished OS. It's just asking for trouble.
