This certainly isn't my first time encountering this issue, and I'm sure many people have complained about this already, but this seriously needs to be fixed. As near as I can tell the ground is 100% flat, but I can NOT place a new piece next to the existing path. Furthermore, if I delete that corner piece, and then try to put a piece there (where it already existed, so it should be perfectly ready for a new piece) it still says obstructed?!? Like... WHY?!?
This is currently my biggest complaint with the game. I have also attempted to blueprint existing habitats to duplicate them (making multiple cheetah enclosures for the challenge) and when I try to place them back down, it shows that they should be able to go down until I actually click it, and it turns and red and gives me an "obstructed" message, or something similar!
And yes, I've tried to check and uncheck the "Flatten Terrain" box, as well as everything else under the "Gear" tab in the bottom right. Also I have tried to skip that spot, make a path continuing to the bottom right, and then "Deselect Grid" to go into regular path building mode to connect it... And it still says Obstructed.
Edit: So I did finally figure out the problem. The corner of the habitat was the issue. Once I shifted that back slightly, I was able to place down this path the way I wanted. Though why the corner of the habitat barrier should stop me from placing down a piece of path that wasn't technically affecting that corner at all remains a big question.
