Unable to train Engineers... :-(

I just got the PC version of Thrillville Off the Rails. It's not at all what I had expected but have been enjoying it none the less. I am having one problem... I can't train the engineers. I can train the janitors and the cheerleaders, how come not the engineers? Will this affect the "sabotaging engineer" scenario or can I just hire untrained engineers?

As a side question, is there a walkthrough or something?

To train the Mechanics walk up to the ride and press the primary action button (usually the A button on a 360 controller), you should then have a fix option if the ride is broken, or maintain if it is not. Either option will allow you to train the Mechanic.

I'm not aware of a walk through, and a quick Google doesn't reveal any.

No idea how good it is... I didn't even know we had a strategy guide for that game until I more or less accidentally stumbled upon it.
