Uninstalling Elite for the foreseeable future

You assume that people like us do nothing but hang around these forums all day? We're not like the folks here who are Frontier's "knights in shining armor" come to defend their honour like some pathetic noble. Forums are for expressing opinions; you disagree? Fine, we can agree to disagree.

But trying to make this as someone "trying to stir up drama" is pathetic, and just goes to show how in denial some of the die-hard fans of this game are because Frontier-does-no-wrong attitude.

Definitely not going to miss folks like these.

And how is me calling out drama being some knight in shining armor? Again, here you are on the forums still defending your 'honor' on your post after claiming to be uninstalling and done. By all means if you are unhappy with the game then go, nobody is holding you here. Nice quote btw... where is the "Trying to stir up drama" quote that you are using, asking for me.

Everyone in the forums is always so confident that nothing can sink Elite lol. I'm actually pretty concerned at this point. No ship interiors, no real VR, and tons of bugs. I'm in an ED Gaming Group of 300+ players and I haven't seen people this mad since Cyberpunk. And that's no joke. People are legit bailing on the game with 1000+ hours on the clock.

FDev doesn't seem to be capable of producing content anymore. We didn't get most of what we wanted and what did get barely works. FDev is going to take a financial beating for this and I'm not sure how they'll recover.

Its even worse with so many things being shown off with E3 right now.

They're just delusional fanboys, don't pay attention to them.

Todays stream confirmed nothing has changed re VR, ie not working on VR fps, no plans to add beyond fixes. Might change in the future, might not.

This is apparently todays affront to all that is good and decent, and threads must be started, dummies thrown, etc.
Ah

Yeez, I understand the OP may be frustrated, but these announcements aren't meaningful and if you're looking for majority endorsement, that ain't going to happen.

It's a game and players come and go, no need for the drama, though it provides amusement for sundry forum peeple.

On the other hand, those who respond to these posts are only adding fuel to the fire, myself included. If no one responded, maybe these things would die out.

I will pledge not to respond to any "fare the well" threads, no matter what circumstances may be present for response fodder.

"Won't you join me?
Excellent!

This last bit of news is the final straw for me.

On top of the frustrating launch of Odyssey, it's the broken promises and being felt like we were lied to that's the final straw for me.

I'm done with Elite, the grind is just too much and too boring; and it doesn't help the bugs make the game unplayble half the time for me. I can't even enjoy playing with a friend without the dreaded Orange Sidewinder error popping up.

Elite fooled me once with Horizons, promising all those features that ended up taking 3 years to implement. Shame on you.

Elite fooled me twice with Odyssey, purchasing it on launch despite my better judgement. Shame on me.

I won't be making this mistake a third time. If Frontier wants me back, they need to show it with their actions like No Man's Sky did. I'm fed up with this over-promise under-delivery method they've adopted.
Frankly, if you want to have more impact and insure better behavior on the part of corporations, I suggest writing a detailed and honest review of your experience on Steam if you have not already. Financial Analysts and future investors probably look at Steam reviews in order to gauge customer satisfaction and perhaps as an indication of whether to invest in Frontier.

Frontier Developments will not change without being significantly financially negatively reinforced. They have listened to us only as it pleases them.

Curiously, due to the very bad reception of Odyssey on Steam and mainstream gaming media, Frontier is now very highly motivated to not mess up the upcoming JWE2 launch. I wonder if any delays in EDO are due to diverting personnel to JWE 2? Just speculation.

Well, maybe the dino people will get a better product. Which is a good thing.

Yeah, I'm part of a smaller player group and I've seen a lot of frustration as well. Personally I would have happily paid full price for a halfway decent release but now? ¯\(ツ)/¯ unless things get better by a lot I'll keep my money in my pocket. I'd hate to see the game die but it just isn't worth the risk to me to buy even though I know some people are having a lot of fun, given how laggy and buggy it's been for so many others.

You're gonna play the nearly bug free games with devs that listen to their communities. Look at Stellaris or FFXIV for examples. I've got thousands of hours in each.
Stellaris is awesome but I wouldn't exactly call it bug free to be fair :)

(But it doesn't matter because mods .... mods fix everything!)
