I may be repeating myself but can I talk about unique behaviors that I wish to see instead?
T-Rex, or larger predators
- Ambushing through hiding in trees, behind obstacles(building), landscape (lower valley), waiting for the right moment to burst out and grab a prey as in JP.
- Territorial behavior such as simply roaring/chasing off invaders.
- Strategically choosing a habitat that suit them the most - such as Dr. Grant suggested - the larger predators are usually at the center of the island. Obviously, Spino will be around the coast then.
Smaller Herbivores
- Evading predators in herd with uniform changes of direction (uniform Zig-Zag/S shapes) with the fastest and most experienced leading the route.
Raptors
- Coordinated, strategic hunting by herding/luring enemies into a strategic kill zone (enclosed space - such as middle of forest, valleys, buildings), surrounding them and attacking them finally in all possible directions.
- Communicating and learning from each other. For instance, a set loose and recaptured Raptor may tell what she learnt about the environment to her mates.
- Attentive to the environment. Well aware of its surrounding - knowing which areas are usually filled with guests; which part of the fences are more vulnerable to be broken down due to weather/wear and tear conditions; observing and planning a strategy both before and after the event of the breakout. Perhaps, they may purposely chase a jeep and burst out when the gate opens. (something like the I-Rex) or ramping (long jumping) out the fences through higher ground.
- Has an alpha leader - to which she will do the hardest job as she's the most capable.
Larger Herbivores (personal speculation only)
- The strongest and most experienced in the outer rim of the herd, protecting the weaker. Fencing off invaders with square-off fighting. Preferably, I would like to see multiple herbivores attempt to roaring/scaring off invaders before dwelling into fights.
- Group fighting by surrounding the enemy, circling them while waiting for the right chance to blow a strike just like the Stegosaurus in JP2.
I know this is certainly too much of an expectation but I'll be floored if this happens the first day of release. Otherwise, I still hope that Frontier would reach that level somedays through continuous updates. [rolleyes]
