Following the kind suggestions offered in the hitting a brick wall with engineering thread I have resigned myself to becoming combat active for the first time in years. In addition, in order to follow the kind advice, I need to learn how to use limpets. This may seem unbelievable to some but I have never used limpets in any capacity. The last time I did any mining was in a hauler before limpets were introduced into the game (in those days one used one's cargo scoop to collect the rock fragments, and mighty soothing it was too) . So today I have been trying to learn how to use collector limpets and again seem to have got myself into a dead end.
I have, by forgetting that limpets count as cargo and generally not thinking straight, got myself in a position in which a T7 has, amongst other things, got lots of limpets in its hold, more limpets in fact than there is cargo space for in any of my other ships. I need a break from learning limpets and so I wish to change ship to one that is in the garage, but I cannot because of the number of limpets in the T7.
I cannot reconfigure, say my Python, to have enough cargo space because to do so would mean bringing it out of the garage and I cannot bring it out of the garage because it hasn't enough cargo space as it is currently configured; i.e. lots of business class passenger cabins for the Robigo run (Goodness that was boring, only did it for three trips).
The only way I can see around this is to flog off all other cargo and then go in for a bit of galactic fly-tipping; that is to say sail outside the station boundaries and hit the dump cargo buttons. I don't mind the monetary loss that such a course of action would entail but it is not exactly elegant and hardly adds to my green credentials.
I don't believe I am the first player to find themselves with an embarrassing surfeit of limpets and wonder if I have missed something that provides an elegant solution. Anyone with any ideas?
