Elite: Dangerous 1.06[/h]Contains various fixes including a fix for one of the major causes for the
mysterious deaths within space stations
.
===============

Ok... I am hoping there are others who have seen a HORRIBLE level of graphics lag introduced in and around (within ~5km) of stations since this last patch (v1.06). I would rather have the game crash my system once per day as it previously did (once per day only) as I came out of SuperCruise at a station. This new lag that you have introduced in and around the stations makes the game almost unplayable. It is really severe and the graphics "stutter" almost makes me throw up.

At least in my case I never encountered this before this last patch to 1.06. And I was doing exactly the same types of things in the same ships at the same stations as before.

Please fix. Thank you!

When is the harmless rank for all players being shown going to be fixed?

Hello Commanders!

I believe a fix has gone in to the internal build to get combat ranking visible for human pilots. It was never intentional to hide this information - knowledge of a pilot's combat ranking, both for human and AI pilots, is something we want to display.

Not sure when this will filter through to live, but I suspect it will be in the next update.

Have a look at this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=102649

I tried to collect some developer statements concerning upcoming updates and bug fixes.

developer comments and directions are all over the place, but theres a general direction to be had, a lot of big bug fixes wont come until feb. Smaller things till then

Although its nice to see the game gradually (slowly) improving none of this makes me want to play the game again. Once we start seeing some external views, more ships, more stations, better trading screens, improved system screen, better less random missions etc I will take another look. Its been a bit lousy though finding out this game is still a year away from being even roughly 'complete' I expected so much from the release day that never materialised. Although its a good game it cant be recommended as a purchase in its present state. I also dont like the way Frontier knowingly [and rather deceptively] released a very basic unfinished game, I expected more from them that that after all we have been through to date. And after all the empty promises to the contrary as well - poor of them.

Any chance it's a 'pink' or 'tropical' themed station? These have been known to run any GPU at 100% since the start of Beta2.

Open Ticket #155.

Still encountering the matchmaking issue, even after trying to enter and leave open game together. Had to exit and rejoin game several times before we eventually were able to see each other again - this was outside a station in Lave.

We've just been jettisoning cargo for a friend to collect and seeing some unexpected behaviour. The location of the cargo seems to vary slightly for each of us, but also sometimes the cargo appears to be collected, and sometimes doesn't, but seems to lead to a dupe occasionally, where the cargo gets collected, but remains in space, and can then be recollected by the one that jettisoned it. Other times it remains visible for only one of us with 1% health and never degrades. I hope this will be fixed as it looks like a pretty easy way to dupe items. :(

STUTTER PROBLEMS, ONE cause found:

I've discovered that some tools needed VerboseLogging=”1” added into the file ??:\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1002\AppConfig.xml

Adding this line, contributes a lot to stutter, everywhere.

If you use one of the trading tools, try it out yourself: find the file AppConfig.xml under your Elite folder under Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1002\, and get rid of the line VerboseLogging=”1”.

It worked well on my rig... but still doesn't remove completely ALL stutters (a little in big stations, and sometimes on planet approach) - but can live with!

EDIT: less stutter WITH the line VerboseLogging=”1” AND running ED in ramdrive

Crash on launch

I'm having a new issue since the update. Whenever i run the launcher and start the game, it crashes out with an unrecoverable error. I've sent in the crash logs, but wondering if anyone else is seeing this same behaviour?

Station Boom Bug

:eek:Well, i just went into AMAHU Kondratyev Orbital and went BOOM before reaching the landing pad.
I had a T7 with 212 tonns of Palladium. Just kost me 3.6mil.
Not very funny so to say.

It seems the bug is not yet fixed. BTW i have been in solo mode!

- Added a safety net so that permits awarded on faction ranks (Imperial and Federal) will be forcibly added at the rank above if the player hasn't been able to access the mission for whatever reasonl

Michael,

I think you've got a bug here. I repped up to Knight with the Empire, and immediately got a "Summerlamd" permit. Typo aside, this happened at the rank BEFORE I was supposed to get the permit - it's supposed to only show for Lord and above. Sure enough, when I got Lord, it shows (as unavailable) all over the place. By the patch notes, it sounds like I should have forcibly gotten this permit at Baron, not Knight.
