Hayo zookeepers!

We'd like to give a big thank you to all the PlanZo Fam who helped by sending their save files to us, and those who made Issue Tracker reports. Thanks to you, we've just released Update 1.2.2, which focuses on alleviating issues regarding animal thirst levels. You can read the Update Notes here:

Animals
  • Fixed animal thirst rate dropping 2x too fast; fixed in all difficulty modes.
  • Fixed dehydration in line with starvation; animals won't die of dehydration if there is water available in the habitat, and won't cause dehydration notifications.
  • Fixed broken eat animation on the juvenile Grizzly Bear.
  • Fixed an issue where animals being boxed up under sprinklers and then moved would still (and always) think they're under the sprinkler.
  • Fixed Female Capuchin Monkey performing an animation with cardboard box, but the enrichment box does not react.
Scenery
  • Fixed a back face culling issue on the underside of Temple Stone Support Beams Rubble 01 and 02.
Terrain
  • Added a new Terrain Edit toggle to game settings to allow previous terrain edits around enrichment items and barriers. Found in Options>Game>Global Settings>Disable Animal Navigation Terrain Constraints. This comes with a warning as this can potentially cause problems with the animal navigation.
UI
  • [Franchise] Fixed an issue where Genealogy will no longer display Mate entry if mate is removed from zoo.
  • Fixed inconsistency with Content Pack filtering for nature assets.
  • Fixed not being able to release animals born in zoo to the wild due to adoption restrictions.
  • Fixed incorrect units displayed for areas above 1000 m2 in relevant info panels.
Stability
  • General stability fixes!
Known Issues
  • The team continues to investigate reported issues regarding habitat cleanliness and will have an update shortly.
  • The team continues to investigate food and drink points being incorrectly marked as inaccessible in rare circumstances; the impact of this is mitigated by fixes in animals.
We are still working on getting the habitat cleanliness issue fixed, and would appreciate if any players who are experiencing this issue could email their save files to community@frontier.co.uk. The team would like to thank you for your patience on this issue, and are aiming to have a fix out asap, as stated above!

Since this update, my planet zoo doesn't bootup at all anymore
Reboot of the computer didn't help.
Also steam's 'Integrity check' didn't help

I'm happy that this Update was released and can't wait to test if all of my Animals now can live without the fear of dieing of Dehydration.

Can I please get a better Explanation what exactly this means? I don't understand it. Does this stop the automatic flattening of the Terrain when a Object is placed?

Last 3 hours: browsing - considering starting planet zoo - looking into the frontier forums if an update is annouced - browsing - again cosidering starting planet zoo - looking into....

and finally: starting steam, getting in update, starting planet zoo
Thank You!

Since Update 1.2.2, you've been having this issue?

This is to allow you to edit the terrain around habitat barriers and enrichment items after you've placed them. This was a bug that was solved in Update 1.2.1, and now, with this update, you will be allowed to edit terrain around habitat barriers and enrichment items again :)
EDIT: Just to clarify my comment, you may still come across issues when editing terrain:
  • Animals can fail to navigate to access points on enrichment
  • Animals might make weird jumps through objects/walls
  • Lake placement might get confused and potentially split/overlap causing more issues for navigation

Hope this makes sense :)

Thanks, this sounds amazing for Enclosures that aren't on the same Ground-Level as the Path and to create Cave-Entrances under the Fence

After the lates 1.2 update i have the problem that all the game tectures look blurry, is this aslo fxed or will it be fixed??

Since Update 1.2.2, you've been having this issue?
...

Correct. I did found the issue. Out of the sudden 'VCRuntime140.dll' was missing. This while, pleanet zoo runned just as normal, minutes before the update.
The Microsoft provided vc_redist.x64.exe fixed the issue bij replacing all the files of Visual Studio by new ones.
So for now it seems working again. But it has to dosomething with steam/planet zoo, since it worked minutes before

My Animals don't seem to get dehydrated anymore. I'm happy it was possible to fix it. Hopefully there will be also a fix for the dirty Habitat Problem soon because I have a lot of infected Apes in my African Zoo (which isn't even my Main-Zoo)

Yes, the update post does say that the habitat cleanliness problem is a known issue. We're asking for people who are experiencing this bug to send us their save files to community@frontier.co.uk so the team can work on fixing it for everybody.

Great update!

I'm also looking forward to the cleanliness update, because like others I'm experiencing issues with animals getting continuously sick when there is a little poop in the habitat. The staff is well trained and often cleans the habitat, but the animals still complain about habitat cleanliness and get sick.

Have you sent us your save file? Would help the team work on fix faster!

Is there an ETA on fixing the issues with stress and animals mysteriously escaping in the middle of habitats yet?
Could you clarify these issues? This is the first time I've heard of animals mysteriously escaping. Have you made Issue Tracker reports and can you link me?
