Update 14 and Beyond: Live and Legacy Modes

Do you know if clearing the game in Legacy or Live affect the other mode ?
Can i clear my Legacy game to start again in Legacy while my Live status stay as-is ?
Or clearing one mode clear both ?

Another question also : I play on PC and i have a friend playing on PS4, can i play with him in Legacy ?

There was a thread recently where another Cmdr cleared their save in Legacy & confirmed it was fine & had no effect on Live. Just make double sure you are clearing the correct one

If you plan in legacy you will affect the same BGS as a Cmdr on PS4 (Or XBone) but you will not be able to instance with them. So you could for example both work on the same wars for the same factions

English is not my natural language, maybe that's why my searches never included the term "restart", only the in-game term "Clear"

I'm sorry but I'm under the impression that most third party tools don't support legacy. Too much work to keep track of two galaxies.

I know that EDDiscovery quite happily works with legacy. I think if one wants to use trading tools you probably need something that just uses your own data - such as TCE MkII can do - otherwise it is the in-game tools which are rather rubbish.

Hi. I'm said commander, I cleared my legacy commander, and can confirm that my live commander was completely unaffected. I've been playing my new commander ever since, and am just as enthralled with 'levelling up' as I was nearly a decade ago. I can't absolutely vouch for the same in reverse, but would be astounded if it wasn't the same.

I confirm EDDiscovery has profiles which can separately tracks progress including Legacy vs Live

Any news on when the portal being reopened? I'm aware of the Q1 estimate, just eager to learn more since I've learned about the update to the transfer rules.

they are aimming on try to get it done before april but no solid news

I think it was the last stream where Arf added some information. Since the galaxy has split it's not as easy as before. At the moment they are investigating what can be done, and the aim is to transfer as much as possible and not just a bare minimum. Not that I have any stake in it, but it appears that there might be good news for console commanders that want to transfer sometime in the future.

Indeed is different and maybe harder too.
After the split they'd need not only to copy the character save (ships, modules, unlocks, materials, cash, etc) but also whatever discoveries they made since the split - since now they will be moved in a Different Galaxy

Yeah. I'm going into the new galaxy, as far as I know of. And hearing about the fact I can finally transfer nearly everything I had on Ps4 instead of barely a thing, made me re-interested in the game since I had the PC copy and haven't touched it since I was prevented to play my Ps4 account when they had a crossover glitch XD

My pc commander has a few million in change because I was in the wrong to start over. My ps4 commander has 6.4 billion and a loaded Anaconda (Weapons).. I think I would rather delete my pc commander again and transfer my ps4 profile to pc.
