Update 14 Spoiler Thread

Seriously. If you're here and don't want spoilers, turn back now.
Understand, this is taken 15m before I had to leave for work.

You can't get navlock on the maelstrom. Manual dropout needed.
Thargoid Scouts interdict you in the maelstrom system. You will not win this, it's nothing like you've had before.
The Maelstrom is a causitc environment... YAY FINALLY SOME ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS TO GO INTO
There's Thargoid landmines in the maelstrom. I show you just what these do....

EDIT: Not Landmines, Caustic Generators, and they drop "Corrosive Mechanisms" or somesuch? As below
Interceptors are doing things with the mines. Unsure what
I suspect something to be found in the Maelstrom somewhere. But, well, yeah, I died.

Not sure what that implies... maybe I died too quickly XD

There is some huge object in the middle of the maelstrom that sends out a HUGE pulse (somewhat similar that thargoid interceptors do) that throws you out of the maelstrom if you get too close to the center

Ah, yeah i suspect something will be in the middle... if there's lead-in then activating it could work... but if there's no warning, you're out of luck.

Colliding with the generators also seems to fling you out
8 hours til i can get back on... yay work.

Guardian weapons disabled in maelstrom system (not entirely unexpected).
Other thargoid systems they are ok.
Swarms at alien CZs are no longer hobbled.
I have guardian weapons and 1 ax multicannon so can't say as to what degree the hummie ax weapons may have improved.
Engineer at meene had nothing new to say to me.
Station defense seems fun.

Never noticed the evacuate injured personnel missions before.
Found at wakata station in hip 23716. They want a lot of emergency bulk supplies as well.
Interesting, just got interdicted by an interceptor (not the surprising part) and received thargoid interdiction telemetry.
I seem to have a whole slew of thargoid data now of various types.

Awesome... i want to check out the available missions after work :)

There's a bunch of new thargoid combat missions ("Kill 5 Basilisks", "Kill 50 scouts" etc) but the material rewards seem to be broken because they are only offering 1 unit.

Did someone mention that all the anomalies appear to have names? Maybe that was already a thing before 14.
Yeah someone posted that elsewhere, but i noticed it myself (didn't have time to notate them). They're mythological names, Thor is the one which stands out in my mind

It seems in infested systems there are goids almost everywhere - around damaged stations, settlements, installations, combat aftermaths, AX weapons fire and of course AX combat zone signals. They will also drop in on you if you're sitting in real space and will interdict you from supercruise.

In an interesting turn of events (i.e. not sure if it's a bug or intentional) the damaged stations can be docked at and can repair and rearm your ship. So you can actually restock your ship without leaving the instance and losing all your progress if you don't have a teammate to hold it.

OK, so, bits and bobs things I've got so far:

I've also spotted:
Caustic Mechanisms (dropped by the Caustic Generator)
Caustic Crystal (G4, probably an intact version of the shard)

Any tips of collecting these? I suspect collector limpets will melt, and it's hard to get a bead on any target due to constant drift.

A DBS with full on heat management sounds (on paper) useful, or perhaps a Dolphin even.
One of the challenges is the abruptly change direction.

I need to work out what the caustic sink requirements are... I'm going through rebuys like a madman, even with my tanked- up researcher.
