Thanks to the team for getting this patch out, it's nice to see so many stability fixes which will hopefully help console players out, but I'm afraid that I have to register my extreme disappointment at the lack of fixes for the Codex.

Virtually none of the bugs identified with it have been fixed, most of which were identified in the Beta, and a half fix has been put in for one of the issues. Are you really going to leave it in the state it is over the Christmas period?
 
Codex still broken. Any chance this is going to get fixed?

If it was actually broken, no one could be using it. If there are random crashes in different locations in the Codex and not even on all platforms, it’s not called “broken”, it’s called “bugged”. And if it’s a bug that only a few people are experiencing, it gets harder to pinpoint it to even start thinking about how they could fix it.

So please stop abusing terminology and submit a thorough bug explanation in the appropriate subforum.

Codex

  • Corrected titles and descriptions for gas giant entries
  • Changed references of "Stellar Body" to "Astronomical body"

Conflict Zones

  • Fixed enemy ships appearing as clean, and incorrectly causing bounties to be given to Commanders that destroyed them

Controls

  • Fixed occasional complete loss of control input in various situations
  • X52 and X56 presets should be be available once again
  • Fixed a binding issue with T-Flight HOTAS X that caused the confirm options not to be navigable
  • Fixed SRV UI going missing when using the open Codex shortcut
  • Fixed issues with the HOTAS 4 controller on PS4

Crashes/Stability

  • Fixed various crashes on PS4
  • Fixed crash that could occur when landing on a planet
  • Fixed crash that could occur when entering a Notable Stellar Phenomena
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when in the galaxy map
  • Fixed crash that could occur when using a research limpet
  • Fixed crash that could occur when jumping to a new system

Federal Capital Ship

  • Fixed hitcheck issues

Localisation

  • Updated Russian translations for Codex Discoveries
  • Added descriptions for the recently added high value mining commodities

Mamba

  • Increased top end speed
  • Increased pitch rate when below max PIPs
  • Slightly reduced the ENG usage on boost
  • Slightly increased heat gain to compensate

Mining

  • Changed new mineable commodity from 'Opal' to 'Void Opals'

Server Fixes

  • Fixed a number of adjudication and matchmaking server crashes
  • Fixed a number of transaction server performance and reliability issues
  • Fixed a cause of transaction server errors when selling exploration data
  • Retuned the balance of smuggling, crime, missions and selling exploration data with the faction simulation
  • Fixed a number of performance issues when processing the faction simulation
  • Fixed a server error with console players authenticating with the Companion API
  • Stop displaying first discovery names on the system map for star systems with that as their default discovery level, first mapping names should remain.
  • Server-side changes to recover more quickly from chat server failures

VR

  • Fixed hardlock that could occur when entering the Notable Stellar Phenomena
  • Corrected a visual mismatch between the left and right displays when probing planets
  • Fixed missing scan effects in the FSS mode when using a Vive HMD


Xbox One, i already download it but i stiil cant play like a before update, still getting message in every game mode "Cant connect to total servers", help

I was hoping that you may be able to clarify this rather cryptic BGS change. It is intended to resolve the weirdness in 3.3 where influence effects appear to accrue to station owners only?

I am unsure, at this point, what the “balance” area ideal is supposed to be.
What is working as intended and what is not?
Don’t need (or want) details but some general guidance would be nice.

Haven’t even touched the Codex yet nor does it seem I am missing anything from my gameplay without it.
Guess I should check it out eh?

The Codex is broken. There are so many things wrong with it, that it makes using it almost impossible and certainly pointless. Want a few?

Records not updating past the first
Reported discoveries not taking you to correct locations
Wrong star types listed
Entering the Codex from a new discovery causes various issues including always opening the Codex at that page when you exit the FSS, disabling the camera suite (I mean I could go on by the bug report for this issue alone is over 15 pages)
Tourist Beacons not showing
Text logs missing

There's plenty more.

If there is a war or a civil war all that you do is not in favor of the desired faction

Also missions appear to either be giving no Influence rewards, or are actively hurting the faction you take them from. Bounties now you can hand them in anywhere seem to be leaching influence from the local faction because they're for someone else... Problem is, the BGS is, despite the claims the patch would give more information, still excessively vague. You cannot for instance even see if the faction has gone up or down on the new window, as you used to be able too. All we can say for sure is it's clearly not working in any sort of predictable, or useful way, but not the exact causes as to why.
 
Thx for patches, but sadly this is far from enough for me to try propagate ED for my friends like I was used to do before. And ignoring of bug reports for graphic glitches, poor HUD visual appearance and similar stuff is not making it any better.

I did submit bug reports, more than once. Since I didnt get any reponse, I'm trying here. Maybe its good for you, but since mine doesnt work as it should, its broken for me.

Don't tell me where or what to post. Let the mods do that job.

Scanning Anemones (glowing space pumpkin) surface sites still isn't adding them/crediting you for discovery in the codex. Kind of disappointing but hopefully this gets fixed in the next patch.

Not from the SRV - so far with me anyway - but someone posted that using a SLF works, I also found that using the ship to scan them works :)

There was no need to remove it at all, it should not have been removed & needs to be put back in.

Um no? The previous iteration of the exploration system seemed more like a placeholder. In fact, the concept art showed something much more similar to what we have now, so I think it's safe to say the new system was going to come eventually. Besides, the new system actually improves exploration, adding in more player interaction, not just mindlessly flying around, and improves the potential payout when an explorer comes back from say, a year of exploring with the new system. Not to mention, the new system is faster in general, not having to spend 30 minutes to get to a metal rich planet 30K ls away just to get a DSS so you can get the "first discovered by" tag. Instead, just zoom in on your FSS and turn in the data. Map the planet for extra credits, if you feel like spending the time to get there.

I had that bug, turned out i had the same key bound to exit FSS and Codex. (which should not be possible, but clearing the Codex key fixed it for me)
