Update 6 has caused lag issues

I play on PS4 Pro and.. now this game is literally unplayable. How could this even happen?
Frontier really brought their A-game in so many aspects of JWE 2 but such lags are seriously unreasonable.

It lags waaaaay more than before the update and the game freezes for a longer time even when the park is closed.
I need to play with a closed park because my PS4 Pro can't handle the game at all otherwise (since the new patch).

Which brings me to another bothering change of the update:

When I load my safe file after closing the park, it automatically starts the game with my park opened again so I have to manually close the arrival point every time I load a game because of the new update.
If you don't know that or forget to close it immediately, it takes a lot of time till all guests are gone so the frames do get better but they remain worse than before the new "patch" and freezes continue to happen, too.

Overall its a total downgrade and a bug-fix cannot come soon enough.

Evo Sqaure just posted on Twitter about freezes and performance issues happening on previous saves. Since she mentioned it, I'm confident that's what my issue is also. New games started after the update are unaffected. Not sure if this is relevant or not to this thread, which seems heavily represented by consoles. It may be helpful to Frontier if it can be confirmed this issue affects those platforms as well.

I can confirm this is not true. I started a new park for the update, as I was experiencing lag issues and frame drops on my most recent pre-update park after downloading the new update, and I am having the same performance issues on the new park that I had on my previous park. I'm playing on a medium sized map and only have around 20-30 dinosaurs with very little currently on my map. I usually play in 4k with high-very high graphic settings, turning my settings down to medium-low doesn't fix the problem. Super disappointed with the performance issues, hopefully they get a patch out soon. Playing on PC with a Nvidia 3070 (current update), 32 GB Ram, and a 11th Gen Intel i7.

Played on the new square Biosyn map and with around 300 dinosaurs it got a little laggy.
To my delight, the bug where the animations started to glitch from 150 animals has been fixed.

Tried to reduce the lag by lowering the graphics settings, but unfortunately that didn't work.
PC rtx3060, 16gb ram, i7 12th gen.

Yeah, lowering the settings for me didn't seem to change anything. I'm debating building less infrastructure on a new map as I think it may be caused by the guest ai?

Might be part of the issue, but I tried testing a park with no dinosaurs and built it up pretty significantly including placable foliage with no frame drops. The minute I released a dinosaur the game started to stutter and only got worse as I added more. I haven't had any issues with large parks before this update, and now I'm having issues with small parks... I'm definitely disappointed with the current state of the game...

Evolution Square only had a closed park full of goats.
This reminded me of a post in the issue tracker where someone posted that the game freezes every time a goat gets released. That's why I turned off all my live bait feeders and after a lot of time the freezes decreased.

Now they happen every 2-3 minutes and remain for ~ 20-30 seconds, which is undoubtedly still bad but much better than before.
Maybe that's a compromise for some of you until the issue gets fixed.

To end with a positive note:

Social interactions are finally not choppy anymore. Big thanks for this.👍

I'll have to keep an eye on the goats to see if that's what affecting my pre-update save (Which had 7 goat feeders total).

I started a new park and went absolutely crazy with the new foliage options and have a few carnivores fed by goats with no issues yet (only 4 so far).

first I would like to thank you for fixing the social interaction bug, I was very happy about it! but, however, I am now having the same problems reported here regarding lag, I hope a patch is released soon to fix this

thanks for that post.
after deleting all goat feeders, the laggs completly disappears.
platform: PC
also got a feedback from my last live stream, that the folliages causes laggs for someone on PS5. His laggs dissapeared after he deleted all hand placed plants and trees
