I can't find update notes for update number 8...
Deployment Schedule Chain Of Events:
At approximately 09:00 BST (08:00 UTC)
'Servers will be offline in one hour' warning deployed.
Patch notes lovingly delivered in the form of two forum posts (one for Odyssey: Update 8, one for Horizons).
I wonder how many people will think console is getting the Odyssey update tomorrow and not just some bug fixes lol. Should probably clarify in the post that it is not the console Odyssey update, some people are quick to read and make assumptions. @sallymorganmoore
It's probably to late for that but we can hope that it isn't the mess that update 7 was. As to the community coming back together that cant happen until the merge. Will be interesting to see how some of the fixes pan out as the description of the fixes was deceptively vague. Best back up key binds I'm a creature of habit.Best of luck, Frontier! I hope this is the patch we've all been waiting for so the Elite community can heal and come back together again.
Rule 1 of any E: D patch.Best back up key binds
Why not just post the patch notes? Surely they won't change in ~24 hours time?
The secrecy surrounding such benign stuff is incomprehensible to me.
I never realized they had such a ridiculous policy around patch notes. Been playing for a very long time and mostly ignored patch announcements since <= Horizons was pretty stable. Only reason I'm paying attention now is I have my fingers crossed for certain fixes (eg: lighting). So... uhm... nevermind.Because they have NEVER released patch notes the day/night before an update.
It's got nothing to do with secrecy it's SOP for Frontier.

It's like FD's entire communication strategy is designed to alienate. Bizarre.
Most patch notes everywhere come with the patch. It's quite sensible. Like the way product instructions come with products. Putting things together that go together. Like putting forums together with outrage - it just feels right.I never realized they had such a ridiculous policy around patch notes.
That's better I can see thatSummin like
which includes Console players.
