Update download folder

I am trying to apply U18 but I am getting error "not enough disk space" although the disk where the game is installed have plenty of space. My OS partition though cannot fit 30GB download, so my best guess is that the updater tries to download the files to my C: drive.

Can someone give me a hint how to handle this? ...Just do not tell me to expand OS partition, it is limited for for a reason and downloads shouldn't go there.

If using the Frontier launcher, the "EDLaunch" folder (which contains the game in the "Products" folder) can be moved in its entirety to a different drive and the game will run as before by opening EDLaunch.exe in its new location.

I had a look and this apparently not working for me as I have Product folder in D: and no other instances that can confuse the installation

Did you check this part:

If, for any reason there still exists a folder called "Products" under you user folder on "C:\Users\<yourUserName>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments", the game will STILL be installed there.

Where does the UPDATE download the files it installs to the game to?
Is that tied to game or launcher install folder?

If it happens again and you can work out where the files are being downloaded to you might be able to use mklink to move the folder to your D drive.
