my guess it is to update the server times. They are still running an hour behind and I would have thought they would need to bring this to fall with the clocks going forward.

No they are not. The game runs on UTC time. UK is on DST now but the game stays on standard universal time. Contrary to most Brits view, the world does not revolve around them.
