if they attacked you then you do know they are wanted, the very act of attacking you is a crime.

I think attacking you is only a fine. They get a bounty and become wanted after you explode.

I agree there should be some kind of right to self-defense, though.

I had performance issues when it first came out, but recent patches to SteamVR Beta and/or the AMD beta drivers have significantly improved the experience, to the point that it feels identical to the 0.5 runtime alone that I was using.

So give it a shot. [snip]

grnbrg.
Far be it for me not to trust the path a red shirted Star Trek crewman leads me down, especially one with no vowels in their moniker!

Alright! I will! :)

Im with the DK2 guys, will it still work 0.8 steam vr? and will the oculus CV1 even work with steam VR? or am I going to need "oculus home" to play the game now? I remember jumping from stand alone to steam and now oculus home? Some of us are a bit confused.

Word is, it currently works with DK2 using SteamVR, meaning 0.8 run-time. Won't work with 0.5 or 0.6 anymore.

I'm pretty sure you don't need Oculus Home to play the game, as Braben mentioned you can use either their launcher, Oculus, or Steam to start the game, and will get the same VR experience either way.

Seems like alot of effort to support VR - what % of players actually use it? Would like to see some IMPACTFUL bugs fixed....you know, scan and ram, locking in RES/FSD/Random spots...sigh....

VR has *always* been the flagship feature of ED. It's the thing that lets them pitch it as shiny and special. A lot of the menu interaction is built around the idea that people will be using VR. It's always going to get a lot of attention from devs.

alll I saw was:
Fix for purchased exploration data not always giving details on all bodies in that star system

and I am happy, EVERY time I brought exploration data it just seemed pointless, it was especially irritating while trading.

Alright, tested the UC function :

+ it does provide all Objects with Names now for Systems it sells
+ it seems to take existing Data now into account
--> quite useful now for Traders/Mission-Runners, IF UC sells any data for the System

- the Data sold still lacks any Detail Surface Scans
--> meaning the Data remains useless for Mining, as it won't display the Ring types; looking for specific Metal Composition or Planet Temperatures also remains impossible without the Surface Data
(Update : after a test-run North-South through the bubble, it appears the issue of UC not selling data for Systems within 20LY doesn't seem to occur often or at all deeper inside the bubble; there that works just fine and is very nice)
(Update 2 : after return to an area with missing Map Data for several Systems, I was surprised to find they now all appeared for purchase for some reason... some purchased ones keep popping up again and again however)

So overall not perfect, but a nice little improvement. Was able to purchase loads of Map Data on my way south, really like that :)

Support guide? Don't suppose you have a link?

Already tried the Alternative Download Method if that's what it suggests. This happens to me with every update. I just usually have to wait two days or so till the server demand dies down and then it'll work. Kinda puts things in perspective for those who think four or five hours is a long wait ;)

Great news for VR users :D

- Wanted Xbox commanders can now appear in top 5 bounty local news reports

I'm wondering why this is still here (and taking dev time with an update...)

Do you plan to make it useful in the long run ? (finally forcing those in the list to play in open for example)

After official CV1 launch, will Elite D still support DK2? I got the impression from a thread or news announcement somewhere that it would. Thinking of buying a second hand one if that's the case.

Soz for sounding like a broken record! How is performance with regard to planets?

Also does AC still work for you with 0.8?

Am seeing good performance on planets except at stations unfortunately, 0.5 was smooth as silk on planatery ports. I'll stick to Canyon runs or head out into the deep in a Asp, hopefully Monday will get everything back to normal.

Yes it will.

To each their own but can I just say.......... I respectfully disagree :)

ED is a different game in vr my bet is at LEAST 50% of all vive and rift sales will lead to a sale of ED maybe even more.

Yes it will.

Cheers 777Driver. I've seen your VR posts since around when I joined at Premium Beta more or less. That's good to know.

Not forgetting the bugs that came with the last missions, of which they are already aware of and monitoring. Indeed, It's a plus for VR users, but what about solving the bugs that affect us ALL ... GAMEPLAY bugs.
