Update the database to reflect this?

this is honestly the sort of variation i was expecting to see in the game already. there are some systems with accretion disks (fast spinning asteroid fields) around stars, often T-Tauri whites or red stars, or brown dwarves.

it's a shame black holes have no 4d accretion disk.

it's really annoying that we have no gas clouds or feeding stars, no tidal shape changes (IE i think Ibootes main star should be like a squished sphere with a feeding tail from the other star)

A brown dwarf with a massive ring system? that's insanely cool, would love to see it.

I guess you're not working the Beta Sculptoris Goldrush then - There's a nice view of just such a dwarf from the station there. Worth the drive if you like a bit of scenery to go with your massive profits!

The amusing thing about discoveries like these are that it is 400 light years from us and we speculate on what the object is by the occlusion it creates as it passes in front of the host star. In reality we truly don't know what it is, but the obvious thing based on "wobble" of the star would be a planet, thus rings... when in reality... perhaps...

In a solar system far, far away... it is a giant space station of some sorts. :)
