Hardware & Technical upgrading my GPU

so I want to upgrade my graphics card so as to be able to run in the ultra settings with no problems. I currently have an AMD 2GB AMD RADEON™ R7 250 - DVI,HDMI,VGA - DX® 11 any ideas ?

Biggest question is what's your budget?

Something like an old gtx970 can manage 1080p/ultra settings at 60fps. If you want to stick with AMD you could go for the new and relatively cheap rx480 which will perform similarly to an overclocked gtx970. The new gen nvidia cards like 1060/1070/1080 are also excellent but generally more expensive.

If you plan to stick to 1080p then rx480/gtx1060 will be fine for ultra. Or even pick up a cheap second hand gtx970.

If you plan on 1440p or 2160p then you'll need a gtx1070 or higher. Or a furyX if you prefer AMD.

We need to know the rest of your system specs before a qualified answer can be given. Also, a budget to work with could be advantageous (there would be no point in suggesting a 1070 or 1080 if you either don't have the money for it or a potato for a processor for example).

Yes, the choice of a graphics card depends on very many factors adjacent

Have a look at the GTX 1060 - within budget and, by all accounts, represents good bang for bucks.. Also, consider your PSU when selecting your GPU - higher spec cards may require power supply upgrade which will add to the overall cost..

Either RX 480 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB are good choices, well within the budget, and current generation cards so offer some future resistance. Both should handle the 1080p monitor comfortably. Both will need a PCIe power connector so check you have one on your PSU, otherwise you can get an adapter cable assuming the PSU has enough power, or replace the PSU with something nice while at it.

To benefit from the dual channel performance with the RAM, it is necessary to have the memory modules per pair. If the memory controller of your motherboard allows the dual channel, you can purchase a second memory module (identical to the first) to benefit of better performance. The ideal is to buy a kit of 2 memory modules because they are tested together at the factory
