Using a fully decked out Anaconda in PvE feels like cheating lol

This is good. You can adjust the difficulty of the game by choosing what level of engineering to use. Everyone can have the degree of challenge they want. :)

Combat is the least interesting part of the game for me (the non-space flight model has often been discussed and I just don't like it). I therefore use a souped-up ship similar to OP for PvE.
You start off at hard and unlock easy the more you play? "Difficulty choice" is usually the other way round.

OP, i felt this way about the Python when i first deck it out. the game became extremely simple, at least against NPCs. thats why i fly around in an Asp Scout now and i'm still at an extreme advantage. just took her to 5 high intensity CZ's, won all of them and left with about 70% hull remaining. there's a reason people used to sit in the middle of a combat zone in a conda with turrets and limpets farming mats.

I finally took the dive and decided to fully upgrade every single slot and module on my Anaconda to the best of my ability and I feel downright guilty now. Every conflict zone, every HazRez site, and every assassination mission I do now feels like a complete joke lol I show up, I release my fighter, and I go to work. I never even lose my shields anymore. Its just pure decimation. The closest I came to having trouble was when I came across an Elite Anaconda that was engineered to increase my heat by a ton, but even then all I had to do was be a little more careful about my heat management and use a couple of Heat Sinks. He very nearly had my shields down, but by that time he was already dead.

And I hear that the Corvette is even stronger in such situations and I am working towards that at the moment. I honestly can't wait to see how that goes lol

Go show a Cyclops how tough you are

if you do this;

you can get combat elite while your literally at work

Working on A-rating all modules on my Annie now, just need to get the military grade composite hull then I'm buying Horizons so I can do some engineering. Then I can mission stack as much as I want without having to fear those rotten interdicting npc's.... might even have a go in open too.....

I got the military grade composite hull on my Annie and it doesn't really make a lot of difference in my opinion. I felt I had been ripped off :)

I am........competent lol

95% of my time in the game was spent as a Trader. The other 4.9% has been spent exploring. I just dabble in combat, but after being roasted alive on my exploration trip to the Arcadian Stream thanks to some rather.....shall we say "unfortunate" route plotting by the game I have suddenly found myself interested in combat lol

Wait until you end up as Deadly/Elite you'll find combat much harder especially conflict zones and kill target missions.

If you want to feel that your fully engineered ship is barely making it... Go to fight some Thyroids. The Interceptor classes above Cyclop will show you some hell...
In case u dont like Xeno staff, try Pirate Activity zones with threat 7 level. You will kill few ships there, no problem, but the enemy ships there are quit beefy and Engineered more the in HAZ RES.

Welcome to endgame, where PvE is unchallenging and everything else becomes obsolete. You are now ready to try out PvP if you are interested or go bug hunting, that is the only challenge in pvE but contains alot of reverski, boosting in a straight line, synthesis and reboots ... aka all the cheese in one meal.
