Using X52 HOTAS Suction Cups on my desk. SPIT, water, what to use?

I use 4 x 80mm M4 bolts with butterfly nuts. Only tiny holes needed in me desk and sticks go on and off super quick.

I'll post a picture of how I have it cut later today, but it really helped even out the bottom (no wobbling) as well as providing a lot more grip than the stock rubber pads. They can still start to lose grip after getting dusty, but a quick wipe with a damp cloth gets them grippy again.

I currently have them mounted to my chair, so the pads are not necessary anymore, but you can still see how it is cut like an "L" around each stock rubber pad at the corners. http://i.imgur.com/5B4PadZ.jpg

CODKill - where did you get those brackets for your chair? They look really good.

Cheers, Rob.

Ditch the suction cups and get some Gorilla mounting tape. Double stack (to clear base grommets) 1/2" bits @ four corners and your good to go for a year or two. Bigger the pieces, the harder to remove, use sparingly.

Never mind, I think I found them on eBay:

I haven't been on the forums since I posted that, so sorry for the late response. Unless I'm too late, here are some store links:

US: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/50-14545
UK: http://cpc.farnell.com/pulse/lcdpmt-ta/bracket-pole-mount-double-arm/dp/ST02465

I don't know anything about that UK retailer since I'm in the US, but it's ~1/2 the price of that ebay listing. Just understand that you'll still need some way to secure your hotas to the vesa mounts since they're completely different hole patterns. Most people just use velcro and seem to be happy with it. I've since replaced my vesa extenders with custom cut aluminum adapter plates.

Had a similar problem with a joystick on a Formica counter top. Regular suction cups would only hold for a little while. Bought a suction cup bathmat, cut to size of joystick base, attached joystick to bathmat with velcro...problem solved. Seems lots of little suction cups holds better than the four large ones that came with the joystick. Hope this helps.
