UY Scuti?

The very largest star in the galaxy that we know of isn't in the game. This makes me sad. I'm not sure, but I may be wrong, was UY Scuti going to go supernova before the the setting of Elite: Dangerous?

Here's a list of some of the largest stars, and some of the most well known, I guess.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_known_stars

UY Scuti = 1,708 Solar Radii
NML Cygni = 1,650 Solar Radii
VX Sagittarii = 1,520 Solar Radii
VY Canis Majoris = 1,420 Solar Radii - In the game
Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis)= 1,075 Solar Radii - In the game
Rigel (Beta Orionis) = I dunno, 950 Solar Radii? - In the game

www.star-registration.com - Register your own star! I'm going to name mine Frater Domum, probably. I have yet to test it, so order at your own risk!

I might update this later, I have stuff to do now. If someone can tell me the fate of UY Scuti, that'd be great! Anyways, thanks.

I was about to ask the same thing! I thought Elite Dangerous would be more accurate about this. Moreover, they are not simple stars, but the bigger ones! I can not find UY Scuti (Even searching "UY" or "Scuti"), NML Cigny, Westerlund 1-26 or Alpha Herculis, among others.

I started thinking they were not showing because of they were not on the Milky Way Galaxy, but UY Scuti is only 9500LY from Sun.

Is there anyone who knows why they are not in the game?

Thanks.

I was just about to add this very suggestion after seeing a thread in the Discussion forum about a player that saw his first hypergiant. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=164370
In this thread I made a list of the hypergiants that are shown in game. This is less than a quarter of the known hypergiants that exist as of today. I am sure that we would know of even more in the time that this game takes place.

Please add them into the game!

+Rep for Roqinn, for actually searching first, instead of just making a dupe like everyone else in the last few days. :)

I'm not sure if the suggestion is a good idea or not. One or two stars doesn't seem unsound - they'd be places of interest to visit - but if FD does that, what about all the other astronomical discoveries made in the intervening time? Should FD be doing all the exoplanets that are found on an ongoing basis? How interesting is interesting enough to be worth the resources?

I make my own 'must see' list, according to wikipedia.
Unfortunately some of them have different name in the game galaxy map and some of them just simply don't exist in ED.
Maybe wikipedia is wrong. Completely have no idea...

Any update on this?

It's a bit disappointing that only less than a quarter of all known hypergiants are in the game.

Necromancing but who cares, saves making a brand new thread and clogging up forum space.

They still haven't added UY Scuti or any of the others to the game. I'm about 4 jumps out from VY Canis Majoris & after spending an hour scanning the Galaxy coordinates that Wikipedia gives, I can confirm it doesn't exist, even as a "random" star (ie: Snyuffe/Col sector etc).

Devs.....please please PLEASE add these stars. They're fairly simple systems.

Bump. After 2 and a half years NML Cygni and UY Scuti are still not in the game.

There are many threads about this since 2014. This game should have an up-to-date simulation of the galaxy. So important stuff such as the biggest stars of the Milky Way must be in-game.
