General / Off-Topic Valérian and Laureline

ok, this is a small rant, i'm sorry if i'm offending anyone around here.

Valérian and Laureline is one of my favorite comic sci fi comic books, so when I heard that LB was going to make it a movie I was excited.
Then I watched it, and boy was that a bag of mixed feelings.

First the characters, how in odin's name did this,

Where did he find this "boy" it really made it difficult to watch because this male character was so off the comic books I don't even want to try to explain.

The movie was kind of ok, but the lines give was just toe wrecking at times, and the "actors" was really not performing, especially the no energy between Valérian and Laureline.

am I right or just an old grumpy male ???

I thought the film looked great (though I'll admit to not being acquainted with the source material) - but my local cinema didn't run it :(

Still, Besson is pretty unconventional at times, and I think it was interesting to cast someone who's better known for modelling as one of his leads, even if she didn't do a great job. (She's nailed the eyebrows, though.) The male lead... doesn't exactly scream space hero. He looks about 11.

Yep, that movie is a total fail. Not the first one, too. I could count films that DIDN'T ruin my favourite comic books on fingers of one hand.

Did not seen yet, but by the look of it and knowing the teaser?

A man and woman in the comics, and 2 something at the movie...
People are no interested in unidentifiable creatures. They are like when they know what they are dealing with.
