Well, first reviews are out, and as somebody that LOVES old school pulp scifie and Luc Besson movies, I can't wait for the weekend to come...

I like the comic book albums, so I'd really want this to be good.

I'm worried that Surly Ms Eyebrow and young Whatshisface reportedly have negative chemistry in the movie. I suspect the actress has nothing of the character of Laureline.

Yea, I was worried about that too when I saw the first trailer way back when, but after watching some more of the preview material, I think they will do ok... not perfect, mind you, but serviceable. At least "eyebrows" is usually somewhat natural in her acting.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

When I first saw the trailer for this I became 9 again in my head and went nuts. I don't think I've looked forwarded d to a movie since star wars. Luc Besons movies always enthral me, even Lucy.

Agreed... I loved Lucy, personally. The ending was just so beautiful. I think people today just think too much into Luc Besson's movies. They think because he's an old timer French director, he HAS to be pretentious or deep, but his movies are generally simply imaginative, fun and "hopeful" stories.

He is basically the last director that can't really go wrong for me... and I'm usually not prone to fanboyism.
