Valpsund Zoo - By SalamAnders

You might already have seen me post a little about this park elsewhere on the forum, but now I will post a bit more focused on it here. Wasn't sure if I wanted to start a thread for this project or not, but started to miss having a place to share my stuff - so here we go:

Valpsund Zoo
Placed in the fictive town - Valpsund, at the Norwegian coastline near the border of the Arctic Circle.
The Zoo is partly owned by a Skiresort nearby, where most of the guests come from. This also means that the busiest season for this park is the winter. Therefore this zoo is built to be seen covered in snow, early in January where you don't have many hours of daylight this far up north.

So far I have built an Entrance, a seal pool, and a reindeer enclosure. As well as some staff buildings.

And a path leading to the reindeers:

Otherwise, this short (1 minute) video sums up the zoo so far:

Valpsund Zoo is together with the local ski resort offering their guest to rent an 'Aurora Hut' where you can sleep with a view of the Arctic Night sky.
I still need to work on the area around these (I will be placing more than one), so for now I have just made the building itself.

Glad to see people stopping by here!

I finished the Arctic Mini Museum & Café.

I tried to do my best to find/make items that seemed like they could relate to local and/or the Arctic area both from a scientific and historical point of view.
Among them is this article https://nettarkiv.npolar.no/sorpole...1-12-05-penguins-used-to-live-in-lofoten.html
An interesting story about an attempt to introduce penguins in Norway in the '30s.

Good evening! (or at least it is so here)

It has been a busy week, but luckily I did manage to find some time to add something new to Valpsund Zoo.

The Llama!
An animal I wasn't planning on having in this park, but the story behind them being here ended up making a lot of sense. And a good excuse to use them for once.

As part of the Ski resort's plan to attract more guests to the area in the summer period, they are now offering Llama Trekking. Because of that, the zoo ended up housing llamas. And since it is winter, they are not out trekking at the moment.
To learn more about it, watch the video below

Thank you for stopping by!

I am currently working on some signs for the park. Here is a little sneak peek for those of you who stop by here.
This one is for the implied 'Llama Trekking' concept placed at the park.

I am planning on diving a bit into the artwork on my signs in a future video since they come from old animal books and magazines I own.

I'm back with an update on Valpsund Zoo! - A long post

Some daylight pictures for once, since I still need to get some lights up here.
I have made an enclosure for Arctic Foxes, still needs a little bit of work. So here is an early look for all of you, then I will get a video up for it later.

The back of the habitat holds a shorter fence with a moat in front, to be able to create a bit of a panoramic view of the surroundings for the guests.

In the small covered viewing area, you can get up close with the small canines.
