Vandalism and security cameras

Well basically they behave like most real people, but while it may be realistic,
its not fun gameplaywise to have a horde of buttholes in your zoo.

I have a huge problem with vandalism in this game. I have to manualy go around and replace bins, TVs and speakers all the time. And that takes a lot of time. I tried to put around 20-25 security cameras around a tiny spot, but they are still trashing the place. Does the cameras do anything? In my experience, No.

Maybe the caretakers could help fix this? And maybe the security guards and cameras could do something.
You shouldn't have built your zoo in South-Central Los Angeles. Crime everywhere.

Relocate zoo to some placid rural location. Problem solved.

There should just be a "fix all for xxx amount cash" corresponding to the amount of things currently broken. Having to go around doing it manually one by one is not manageable in larger zoos and frankly not something i want to waste time on when I have a horde of highly trained staff that should be capable of maintaining simple upkeep.

I only got a few security guards in my 7k zoo.. And no cameras.

My guests are 4,5 * happy, maybe that's the major difference.
I struggled really hard in Beta with 3x more security and a 3k zoo.
(that was micromanagement which I didn't like)

I found pretty much the same: the only way around it seems to be keeping the guests less angry.

For me that seems to be based on what animals I keep, as I can never have enough food/drink to keep them happy (unless I fill my zoo with vendors). My starter zoo with more basic animals had a lot more issues than my albino cat breeding zoo. Fancy animals = happier guests = less guests trashing things (even if they're hungy and thirsty).

Guards and cameras don't prevent it, and mechanics are very bad at repairing things (or aren't repairing them at all), so not having it happen in the first place seems the best option. :(

I think guests only vandalize stuff if they are unhappy about something. Make sure that the guests aren't in the sphere of influence from Staff buildings and there are no overlapping speakers.

They may also be hungry/thirsty. You can try putting a small eating area and bathroom near where most of the vandalism happens.

One other thing you can try is changing your staff room perk for a few of them to security office. (Don't recall the actual wording, at work now), but this adds a boost to your security team.

Its not looking different with 6 and 8 wide ways for me sadly.
There are two different ways things get destroyed from what I've seen. Essentially malicious intent and by accident. Thing like bins and benches that are on a pathway that is way to full (regardless of size) will often get destroyed just by accident by the masses of people trying to push through. That is the scenario where opening up the path or redirecting flow will help.

Though its annoying given the pathfinding in the game since the guests pretty much always (or 90% of the time) take the shortest route regardless of guest traffic density. So side cuts don't help much if at all in most cases.

Yea i realized a certain stubborness when trying to lure them to side cuts.

But well, personally i don't care anymore, my huge zoo is dead, i will tinker around a little with smaller settings where
the broken animal food system can't kill me.
On 10-15 habitat zoos with 10m wide paths not much will happen.

I think if you catch spot a vandal - via cameras or a guard, the game should charge them for repairs. Then eject them / feed them to the Lions.

Definitely wish mechanics fixed/replaced these things on their own though.
