Can you still scan/sample them?Since update 18 it seems that the bacteria spots are vanishing as soon as I approach them. I am at Smojue BI-U b44-3 6. A bug?![]()
No you can't they are vanishing on approchCan you still scan/sample them?
No you can't they are vanishing on approch
It was a nearly black planet (on the sunside offcourse)I just scanned some bacteria on a body, it seemed to be working exactly as it was before update 18, mind you the bacteria have a strange behaviour, and have for a long time. where they show up as blackish at distance and only change to their correct colour on approaching, I am thinking the bacteria is exactly the same colour as the ground and what you are seeing is the colour change as you approach and since it matches the ground exactly it appears to vanish.
Because they appear to vanish maybe you are losing track of their locations and are not actually scanning the right spot? That's very easy to do, I usually find that looking at the ground from directly above using the free camera helps a lot with that situation and you can often spot the slight discoloration caused by the bacteria.

No. Do you now a tipp or something? And, you do know you get really dark bacteria right?
No. Do you now a tipp or something?
Thank you alot.As I said I scanned some bacteria earlier and it worked as expected, no changes to behaviour, using the free camera can often show you spots of bacteria you miss from the ship cockpit, and can often reveal slight colour changes you can't see from an angle but are easier to see from directly overhead, cabin light also make it harder to see outside on dark planets and the free camera makes looking around much easier, but I am not where you are so I can't help by testing with your problem, I can only say that they are working fine here where I am.
Thank you alot.
I have also some trouble and the most vablues and rearest are hard to find. But we continue searching.......To be honest, bacteria is hard, it wouldn't be the once I have left a planet without finding a single sample of a bacteria that's supposed to be there, but I have a time limit I set so I don't spend days looking. I did spend 4 days looking once because a brand new to the region type of tussock was supposed to be on one planet, and I did eventually find it, but they are exceptions, 10 or 15 minutes hunting bacteria is usually enough for me, it's everywhere and I am not a completionist like some other players I know. Other times you drop down and there it is right in front of you, in the end we have to decide for ourselves how much effort we are going to put in finding stuff that's hard.
Hey there OP; I recently had an issue with bacteria disappearing. They were visible in the distance, but trying to get close to them caused them to pop out of existence. I tried in different directions but with the same outcome. Gave up on them in the end.
I know black spots. But was I has was different. They show as it wud be bacteria but then they vanishedThere's a bug with them, they appear black in the distance and easy to spot but then revert to their natural colour as you get closer, and depending on the colour of the bacteria and colour of the ground they can be hard to find sometimes, but I have ever had them not be there at all, they are always there.
