Velociraptor Comfort Level / Fencing issues.

Sorry if this has been posted before (still new to this forum) however whenever I create a Raptor on the second Island you unlock, the comfort levels of the raptor are quite low and I’ve tried a few things to improve this ie Expanding the enclosure, putting other carnivores in beside etc. However nothing works and as a result the raptor breaks the fences and escapes. I’ve tried putting in electric fencing but this doesn’t help.

Second question:

One of my herbivores always breaks the fences to get and every time I put it back in the enclosure it just repeats the cycle of breaking the fence and getting out. Is there anyway to stop animals breaking the fences? Becoming a bit monotonous now.

Check the Social/Population Levels on the Dinosaur's needs.

Social level is dinos of the same type and population is the overall population in the enclosure.

The raptors need a friend or they will keep breaking out. Several of the Herbivores do the same as well.

If the population gets too high in the paddock some dinos will freak out as well. My Dracorexs for example would not stop escaping until I created a second herbivore paddock and moved some dinos.

At first this game is recreating the World of “Jurassic Park” not he real science world.

At the moment it read a lot post/threads about raptors are broken. A must say that my books are at the home of my parents, but I still remember that they can bite through steel and tested the fences. Many of you are upset that the raptors can break out very fast.
But: You want the raptors in the park, why you don’t avoid this thread. Because you are like Hammond or the tourists. You want to see the raptors.
Why experience at Isle 2

““You must make the decission.

!!!!!Do i really want the top predators in my park with all risks?? !!!!!

I have 5 raptors at Isle 2. They didnt break out at normal weather.
If you force a storm ... it is a little be tricky. I send one ranger to their food (so he is close) they start to attack the electric fence, i try to repair it. After the electric fence there is a strong fence. You need this.
In the first book, the ranger told the visitors (grant etc) that they can break (or bite throught) steel fences.

When the storm starts --> Your eye is on raptors --> You want them, you get them --> and life will find a way --> or take vegan dinos. But you want this dinos... so live with your decission

For me a goat works fine. But at storm the ACU team must come and take them sleep. They go crazy. The normal electric fence can hold them a bit, but not long if they want to break out. Double line and ACU or take not a raptor“

So its ok for me.

Some herbivores always seem to be unhappy if they're cooped up with other species. My Ankylosaurs and Crichtonsaurs are always breaking out.

I have a different issue with the raptors. After a storm ends and their comfort says it's at 100% they will suddenly try to break a fence, anyway.

Normally dont have problems with the raptors unless a storm hits but I still have taken to double layer my raptor paddocks. Give that extra layer of protection and gives my ACU teams time to react.

I wish instead of trying to escape every time after a storm they would instead try and escape when the power is out to the electric fence. They could try and test the fence every so often and if the power is on they don't try for awhile but if power is down then they can try and escape. Electric fences seem pointless to me atm.

Agreed. It would be so much more immersive when predators sometimes attack non-electric fences just because they are predators.
And it would give electric fences a meaning at all instead just being a waste of precious electricity for a little more durability

Island 2

Never put raptors on the second island. The population and social part only go so far. Problem is, storms make this thing very uncomfortable, and you’ll find yourself with a raptor breakout problem everytime one hits. Same can go for any dinosaur with a small comfort zone. You may have better luck once you unlock concrete electric fences but they’ll still be agitated during a storm and try to break out.

Typically Raptors need at least one other of their species to feel comfortable with a max of 5 in one enclosure. Don't mix carnivores together as it only causes issues. Put one live bait feeder and one carnivore feeder and replenish them as soon as they deplete. Raptors like a lot of grassland but the enclosure doesn't have to be big. Also they get agitated when it storms and this causes them to want to break free. I'm not sure if its intentional but it is something to be aware of.

I had an issue with my Raptors breaking out on the 2nd Island, was doing my head in so I stuck a T-Rex in there with them and haven’t had an issue since! Rexy is a bit of a bully mind you :D
