Vending machines

I would love to see food, snack and drinks vending machines.
I feel like the amount of people buying drinks in my zoo, isn't cutting the costs for the staff costs, especially when you have a large zoo, some guest facilities aren't cutting it, where a vending machine could easily be the solution. Many real live zoo's have them and if they are a bit like ATM size (slightly bigger perhaps) we could just place them around in certain area's. Can have caretakers, take care of refilling them.

Don't know how other people feel about vending machines? But I think they will be a great add to the game, allowing us to mix guest facility areas with vending area's where guest are being able to take care of things themselves.

I think it's a great way to increase happiness with thirst/hunger in your zoo, especially when you don't have the space to add a shop in that space.
And a great way to help out players who struggle in the beginning.

I do feel it should give your visitors a negative mood when you have too many of those. Thoughts like: "I don't like the impersonal food/drinks"

Like in PlanCo, yes for it! 👍

I'd also like the ability to place down water drinking fountains as well. To at least help with thirst for Zoos in hotter climates. It could even be balanced by costing the player money while being free for Guests to use. Currently it is almost impossible to fully cover the thirst needs in overly hot Zoos unless you place a lot of coolers down.

A restaurant with coolers in the floor, close to the entrance/exit of the zoo, makes some of the guests feel better until they left the zoo.

They do have vending machines in planet coaster so I’m hoping it’s an easy copy over. Fingers crossed because right now I don’t even bother with adding food and drink stalls, they are a massive hassle guests are never satisfied and litter galore.

That’s why it’s a management game. If everything is managed well, you get guests with happiness in the high 90’s, and no litter anywhere. Apart from that, food and drinks from vending machines would produce litter as well.

IMO having vending machines would reduce the management task of the game too much. Just plop down tons of machines all over the place, and you’re done. Way too easy!

I love how even the choice of what you’re selling - eg. Hot coffee in colder regions and ice cream in hotter ones - apparently impacts the guests and their buying decisions.

I'd be all for it so long as it's the vendors who have to restock them, and there's a building required to get product from. There would have to be some plus and negative for these.
