[VIDEO] Beware the Combat Asp - Asp versus FDL and Python plus Cops

Great effort there CMDR. Always had a soft spot for the ASP ...

Not to take too much away from your impressive ability to survive that situation, but your video was just as much an example of p**s poor combat from your opponents. A Python and an FDL in the hands of pilots that know what they're doing should really make short work of an ASP.

Kudos to you anyway.

That particular Asp is a bit of a legend for its combat prowess, but yeah... against a max-engineered FDL and Python with very good pilots I would be in a tough spot. I have smoked known PvP'ers in max-engineered meta-ships 1v1 in it though.

Were they fighting you or just playing chicken lol :p

How much armor you have on your Asp btw?

About 3K

I've recently discovered ramming as a viable tactic myself. Only taken me 2 years - sheesh! And NPC's won't turn hostile either. It's a blast. If you time it right they won't have time to pop a SCB either so a couple of rams and then line up the power plant before they turn hostile.

Sorry to intrude on this pvp conversation. Those two commanders looked pretty inexperienced at pvp, and they were probably there for the BH CG. They fought back as best they could, but you pretty much outclassed them from the start - both in terms of gear and skill. I apologize if my question is silly, but why did you wipe them out? Were you just testing the build, or was it just dominance? Are you offended that inexperienced pilots are in open? I'm truly not trying to judge - I really want to understand.

Not a silly question at all. I'm leader of the 13th Legion, a well-known Imperial PvP group. We are dedicated to the Empire, and we show our dedication by defending Imperial space (and CG's) and attacking Federation targets and CG. Eravate is now running a CG that supports the Federation, so we are opposing it. Before the fight started, I sent them a message that said: "This CG is under 13th Legion Imperial blockade. Any ships aiding the Federation will be destroyed. High-wake or die!"

Of course, coming from an Asp when you're in an FDL and Python, you would probably ignore such a warning as they did. I had my primary pvp ship (and FDL) in system, but I like flying the Asp because I get more people who try to kill me.

The video description and captions at the beginning explain. They weren't willing to stop participating in the community goal when another player demanded it. Take that as you will.

Edit: Ninja'd :D

And I'm absolutely FOR all players being in open. We actually get a lot of recruits from people we have blown up. They see us later and ask us about who we are, why we are blockading, etc., and they say, 'hey i want to be a part of that'. I would say that probably a 1/2 of our members are people that met us on the pointy end of our weapons.

Did you I and play cat and mouse at the CG over Maia way? (It wasn't Maia but the other system). You were in an FDL, I was in a Python. I lost you by making a run for the station and crash stopping in the planetary rings?
