[Video] Making money : (Diah)Rhea runs 120+ mil/hour

It doesnt work AS well as when it started. Mostly due to FDev relocating the destination station to 14kLs from the jump in star. It was at 40k and thus these missions paid out insanely more!

Which has me wondering how well PAX missions to Hutton Orbital would pay...

Ah! poop its leaked, :D

Its not an exploit though, there are systems offering same kind of missions, working as intended.

<sarcasm>Yeah. I'm sure the Devs are sitting there thinking "We've done a great job allowing people to get to be billionaires in our game in a single day. Sure glad we spent all of that time fixing Quince! Wouldn't want anything too overpowered in the game now would we?"</sarcasm>

Seriously, @Frontier, is there anyone in overall oversight with regards to coordination of mission risk vs. time. vs. reward? Tying passenger mission reward to cruise distances is a great idea, but the balance against multi-jump missions, trade mission or the cost of the commodities board is bizarre, if you don't mind me saying so.

TBH after all the talk about fixing Quince through multiple updates the fact that DAYS after the big one this appeared is so hilarious my head hurts [haha][haha][haha]
I did a quick run with small ship there just a sec ago and I can see how with max rep and fitted conda this can still generate VERY good money!

The payout of passenger missions are all a bit on the high side. I just took a 16 Mcr mission to a system a few light years away and 150 Kls from drop in.
Mode switching would probably get me more of those missions.

For some reason the payout got really high with 2.4 and the variation of destination dropped.

FD tried to prevent the "worse" by artificially limiting some payouts by not allowing the mission to be taken (got a few missions with payouts around 30-40 Mcr. to a system close by and station far away from drop in point - couldn't take those).

I bet the next patch will fix that.

Because the game needs to be fixed.

Exactly. I'm seeing loads of people on social media saying 'this isn't an exploit, it's working as intended' - yet when the devs have shown the intention to nerf Quince, I can't see the logic in putting in a potentially similar issue as intentional. Likewise I can't see it being in the game's interest to keep on finding more ways of making money irrelevant, and to shortcut or negate, entire modes of play.

But hey, maybe that's what they did intend for 2.4. "Lets give everyone some cash - they're going to lose it all when the aliens arrive properly, and the hard reboot occurs in 3.0 anyway..." :D

Love it. Diar - Rhea runs. At the moment im living in my own Sci-Fi world channeling extraterrestrials and spirits. Although I do visit E.D site often as it is "our" baby. Elite Dangerous really shows the potential of humanity and that we all will become star travelers in the end. And most likely already are. But some like to keep it for themselves for now. Although we mere ordinary people can still get us a ship in E.D and travel around the galaxy and play Django or Morgan Kane.

Pst in case you think im going nuts :D Here is my gaming site, although there is little happening right now there although it might change suddenly. Much love :)

it's mostly to expose dev mistakes, and rise a point about the level of grind boing too much for a game you PAY FOR to play first

The fact so many people are happy (and very keen) to use these scenarios to make money really does highlight that there is a big problem with the regular way of making money (i.e. the regular way is boring).

It actually surprises me to see the amount of people that support the current level of play-to-grind in terms of mission payouts.

It's true that there are plenty of ways to make money in this game...and to be perfectly honest a few community goals and some exploration will net you a few hundred million. However, I can see why people steer clear of low paying missions, and head straight for places like Rhea. Maybe instead of swinging the nerf bat, Frontier could take a look at this.

Hopefully payouts and grind are something Frontier take a look at in the next update.

Agreed, no one plays the game anymore, The Cheat: Dangerous players just grind a broken mechanic over and over again. unlock everything, get bored and maybe grief as a last resort. These broken systems IMHO actually ruin the game and its the primary reason that i am fast falling out of love with this title.

Maybe once the money in ED is completely irrelevant Fdev will sell in game ships with a Pay 2 Win system.

Beware post 2.4, post season monetization.

Money isn't the reason people skip modes of play. The lack of reason to actually use a Sidewinder or Eagle is a reason people skip modes of play. A simply way around this is to make dedicated missions and scenarios for the smaller ships.

Reworking trading and exploration, by giving them more depth will also assist with this problem.

So yes, the game does need to be fixed - but high paying missions are the least of the problems. Frontier however, are well aware of this fact (and broadly-speaking agree this is a problem), and this is why the gameplay is being overhauled in the next update.
