Elite / Frontier Viper Defense Craft - low poly model.

yes they do need some control on what is allowed in... i'm not sure if they ever included this model with their collected install 1.12 or something?

I'd understand their reasoning for not including it based on that and losing some control, but i wouldn't agree with it based on the assumption that somehow its going to have a massive effect on performance.

Recommended poly counts should at least be revised every now and then, i can't see why all their limits couldn't be doubled at least really, quadrupled for some perhaps, and still run well on older hardware even if they intend putting lots more ships on screen eventually, if you kept adding more into a system, all doing their own thing, fighting, trading or even parked up, you might well run out of cpu first at the current limits.

but ok that is based on a lot speculation, and at least the limits encourage efficient modelling, and everyone should learn the art of low poly, but as i say, there is more to it than pure numbers. I know that even my older hardware can handle more detailed stuff easily and hopefully thats the last time i'll have to explain that;)

thats what i'm using and the viper is not there.

Edit: actually i just noticed that the files are there but i doesnt show it in game? isint this the ship that the police fly and what it's supposed to show in the intro? its not showing in game...

edit2: i just noticed they use the viper defence mk2.. my bad

If you play around with the ship files I am sure you could get the police to use the Coolhand Viper instead of the MkII.
