Thanks for posting your data cmdrs- it's good to know that VM users CAN see more than 2 or 3 other cmdrs - even with default settings. I suspect now that my 20mbs price plan is most likely the issue but will check my firmware is uptodate and will still try *with care* to change the port forwarding.
Will let you know any results - and if I survive the better half's backlash to no wifi if it all goes wrong ;-)

Ditto, the router's job is to route port requests and communications between the internet and connected computers. If it's a poor product, it'll not be forwarding ports/UPNP correctly, impacting ED's P2P and reducing the number of players you see & can interact with

Not so much the router, more the ISP and their traffic shaping I would say....

I'm with VM, using the superhub with UPnP disabled, and a DMZ pointing to a server acting as firewall/router, which handles port forwarding to my PC. I have no problem seeing other pilots in SC and normal space, and have occasional (text) comms, but get the occasional "ghost" interdictions when the interdictor is hitting me from someone else's IP. Not sure if that's down to my setup, theirs, or simply broken netcode. I've not had a successful player interdiction since gamma, but that might just be because I'm quite clearly not a trader.
