Virtual machine on Mac M1

Hello cmdrs

I have read sth on reddit but I would like to gather some direct suggestions here.

I am a Mac/bootcamp/steam player.
After ages I am looking for a new Mac Book Pro, which I prefer for other purposes. Has anyone installed/played ED on a M1?

If yes, how and how difficult the setup was?
Thanks

Someone has done it (linky) but I wouldn't expect a smooth experience. Odyssey will make things even bumpier in terms of performance.
Looks smooth enough compared to Horizons running on Bootcamp on my late 2013 iMac.

There are rumours that the next Mac book pro will have the next iteration of Apple silicon so it may be worth doing some research on that subject.

If you do get an Apple Silicon Mac, I'd be interested to see how well Elite: Dangerous runs.

The M1 Macs are a real step up in terms of performance, and so much cheaper. Personally, I'm hanging on for the M2 mini and external graphics card support (if that ever happens) - might be a long wait ;)

Yeah if you can wait I think it s gonna worth it.

I am not a Mac fanboy but this time it seems a good value for money (unless you need gaming laptop only)

If your ISP is upto it and you dont want hotas support...
Geforce now runs PC Steam and epic versions with K&M and controller options in anything that runs Chrome web browser....
The free 1 hour play session and wait version will show "IF" your ISP is up to not dropping packet data...
