No Bloody Annoyed. I opted for the USPS International first class posting (The Cheapest, but still £13). According to tracking, it spent 3 days in Miami, 4 Days in London Heathrow, finally got released, but had another tracking info mail this morning saying, and i quote....
Your item could not be delivered on March 28, 2019 at 7:40 am in UNITED KINGDOM due to payment of charges. It is being held while the addressee is notified.
I have no idea who the UK courier company is to phone so i can pay, USPS has a 4 hour on phone waiting time to speak to a representative! AND NO ONE has contacted me asking me to pay, so it can be delivered. Willing to pay and if not to far away, i'll bloody collect it as well!!
Damn annoyed!
Anyone have any idea what 'UK' courier company USPS use once parcel in UK?
Tried email 'Rachael' of Etsy (Where i bought it from) hoping she might be able to help by contacting USPS to ask that same question....Only reply i got was ' Wow, 2 weeks, usually take longer'

I'm always keen to upgrade but think I will wait until there is something that's definitively better (by some margin) than the Rift I have.

Hi Mate, As soon as i get my replacement Lenses i'll post on here my honest thoughts.
Any Mods reading this Look away as i might swear, i'll try not too, but the Lens Mod on my Vive Pro has Blown me away so much so, that when i first put the headset on after swapping the Lens, my Jaw dropped and i just starred at the screen and Said F Me, F Me, F Me!!
What a difference, no WHAT A BLOODY DIFFERENCE, HUGE sweet spot, nay area, Clear defined text, sharp images, hugely reduced SDE, Blacks and Colours defined.
Just jaw dropping beautiful!
So Easy to do, Thanks to HeavyGroovez, for sending me his spare ones to borrow, as mine for the US are held in Customs by yet unknown UK courier. He sent me his today, so big big thanks to him. Pop the originals out with a rounded butter knife like you have in cutlery draw, No effort required, Line up the new ones and drop in. I warn you now get rid of all the dust on the screen and bottom of the lens as it will bug you as you see it. I used my Camera Blower brush, works fine.
Cmdrs, if you have a Vive Pro and not done this upgrade, then Please i URGE YOU to do it, you are missing out on so much. I can look down the centre of my HUD, and read the fuel gauge and the System info on the other side without moving my head, Thats how big the sweet area is.
I can't force you to make this upgrade, but if you don't you are so missing out, it's like having a new headset.
If the Pimax is better than this, then it must really Flippin good, as this is outstanding. I would whole heartedly say over the rift it is a True 2nd Gen VR. Not sure if this can be done on the cheaper Vive, but for the Pro it is a Bloody MUST!!

Indeed, this is why I recommended every Vive Pro owner does the mod. It's a completely different headset with the GearVR lense swap, a sight to behold indeed!

When I tried the Pimax I was underwhelmed, mainly due to the lack of contrast, ED doesn't look black so much as grey for example. The FOV of the Pimax is awesome, but for me there are too many distortions around the edges and the eye strain means that if the distortions don't make me feel sick, the eye strain gives me a massive headache...
Clarity wise, I feel the Pimax may be very slightly better, but there are just too many other issues etc.. The Vive Pro may not have the fov, but it sure is a great place to be.
Your next step, is to modify the GraphicsConfiguration.xml file with the following..

I have set all quality levels, low, med, high and ultra to 4096..
Makes space look even better !! There are lots of other things in this file to mod as well... Always make a backup and experiment away

I used the V4 ones from Etsy, there are lots of complaints about shipping times, but the lens is very good with zero distortion, even comes with a nano coated blue light filter as well.. It is a drop in mod, only really difficult thing is getting rid of any dust etc..

Wanted to wait till i received my lens from ETSY before answering you, as the borrowed lenses from HeavyGroovez did not have any issue.
So finally received my lenses yesterday, the issue was not ETSY, but Royal Mail UK side for sending my package to Manchester (I am in Southampton area??). I pulled out the borrowed lenses and before putting my ones in i made ULTRA sure i had no dust on the screens or lens. Worth doing this as you WILL notice the dust! The picture was perfect and did not have to do any software manipulation at all, never even downloaded it.
No Dust this time, but if you are doing this and do have dust, the lenses are even easier to pop out than the original Pro lenses, so removing that last stubborn dust particle is pretty easy.
I would highly recommend ETSY for buying these as she (Rachael) uses v4 lenses and these seem to require NO software manipulation at all (Certainly not in my case).

. I also have the Pimax, and the clarity with these lenses is maybe slightly better than the Pimax due to absolutely ZERO god rays and huge sweet spot.. The blacks are really very good, I sometimes get caught just looking around space when in ED !!!, especially with the 4k Textures !! I am able to notice things that I could not see in either my Oculus ( low res ) or the Pimax ( low contrast ).I still have a spec or 2 of dust in mine and it is a challenge getting it all out admittedly, but there is no way I could go back to the standard Fresnels !. If only the Vive Pro had a slightly bigger FOV and better headphones ( even ear buds ) it would be as close to a perfect HMD as we can currently get..

WOW....Slightly better than the Pimax? Simon mate you just saved me a few hundred hard earned pounds in NOT buying the pimax, now that they seem to have sorted out their retail side of things!
Man, GET RID of those god awful phones from the pro, get the USB-C to 3.5 jack adaptor (Link earlier in this thread, not the £55 one, but the cheap one from Amazon), plug that in and you can use any cans for wonderful audio. I have some sennheiser in ear buds and these are brilliant. The headset is lighter and more comfortable without the default cans. This is a Cheap Cheap mod, but up their with the Lens change.
I have been looking at Bluetooth/Wireless ear buds as an alternative as well
I already have a wireless Arctic Pro headset, but find it a bit uncomfortable with the pro's head strap etc..my experience.
so after hearing waspos and others loving on there etsy lense mods i bought them. they shipped in three days and were in perfect condition.
after installing them i tried the unit the experience was the same as the other v3 lens mods i had bought earlier in the year the fishbowl distortion was horrible.
they do not come with any instruction and what i had failed to realize is with all three lens mods i had been putting them in the wrong way. i needed to flip them with the protruding lens side out . all three lens kit looked the same in the hmd. i would say they are 80 to 85% perfect in the visual upgrade i couldnt tell the difference between the $40.00 v3 kits and the $60.00 etsy brand.
the lenses are very impressive the number one thing i love is that the god rays /glare is completely gone . this is huge for me in a game like elite dangerous.
there are however 3 problems im having trouble with and i would like to know if the distortion profiles that people post on reddit will fix these issues and what the best one to get.
issues .
1. slight bubble warping /barrel distortion only when i move the headset when im looking around
2.things look smaller almost like your slightly zoomed out. the scale of things are clearly different switching between the original and modded lenses.
3. eye fatigue only noticing it after about an hour of play but maybe my eyes getting use to sharpness of new lense.
lenses will be my new mod on all three of my headsets if i can get these problems fixed so im hoping if someone out there has done a distortion profile fix andi f it solved or at least got close to correcting they could give advice.
