Community Event / Creation Vocal Response Pack - English - Female

** Version 2.3 Available to download **

What Is It?
The VRC (Vocal Response Compilation) is a custom recorded computer voice for your ships computer. A professional voice artist has worked with me to create a versatile and useful collection of responses that you can use with VoiceAttack to have your ship computer respond to your every whim. That's a real human voice for your ship's computer.

It's designed for use with games like Elite: Dangerous, Star Citizen and other Space Sims such as the X series

Where Can I Get It?
You can buy it for only $3USD here https://sellfy.com/p/NaGf/

Anyone who buys this pack (and I'm charging VERY little for it) will get updates for free as long as I'm adding stuff.

Thats the link to buy the Female English Voice Pack. It's only $3 USD, so we think it's a no brainer.

If you want to read a bit more about the pack before buying, we now have a webpage at http://vrcompilations.com/.

*NEW* What Samples are included?
You can check out the full list of current samples here: http://vrcompilations.com/8/

This list includes all 700+ (actually it's something like 735 audio samples) of the versatile vocal repsonses we've included.

**NEW** - Can I Listen to any free samples?
We’ve been asked a few times to provide a female voice sample pack of our Vocal Response Compilation. We dont think it’s fair to people who’ve bought the pack to offer a pack of samples for free, however we are happy to provide a few to listen to. After all it’s also only fair that you can sample the voice used for our Vocal Response Compilation.

To that end our page with free voice pack samples is here:

How Do I Use It?
It's as easy as extracting the files to your HDD, then using VoiceAttack add 'play a sound' to your commands, the latest VoiceAttack beta even includes the ability to define your default sound directory!

One of our helpful users Inaeem has posted the following info:

The definitive VoiceAttack threads and setup introduction below may prove useful. Commander Flaks Voice Controlling Elite: Dangerous - A Guide is truly extraordinary. I’d recommend downloading and utilising a predefined profile kindly made available by fellow Commanders which you can further customise to suit you specifically. You’ll need to extract the zipped file; I use 7-zip file manager.

Once you’ve acquired a profile you can import through the dropdown options under profile (top left hand side of the main VoiceAttack menu). If you want to apply a new sound, edit a command (first icon top left-centre of main window) double-click on command (edit profile window) and select other on the left hand side of the edit command window, next you’ll need to scroll down (other stuff window dropdown) to select play a sound and select browse for application icon to locate a new sound clip. Please do persevere it’ll be second nature in no time, VoiceAttack is beyond revolutionary. Take care and Elite!

Also, if the phrase you want isn't there, you may be able to construct it from parts, another user gave us this tip:

...
I had to make up a couple using two comments ie "Navigation" and "Off" but found you need to add a 1 second pause between or you just get "off".

What's The Latest News?
We're updating the pack frequently at the moment

UPDATE 31/8/2014

This latest update (version 2.3) to the Vocal Resonse Compilation is a major one. We've fixed over 80 samples that users reported audio issues with. Mostly these had very short 'tails' so some media playback software was truncating the audio.

In addition we have added about 80 NEW samples. But the real big change is the naming schema.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

We have renamed EVERY file. I know that's a pain in the royal behind but with 700 plus samples and more being added finding the sample you want is important. Our original naming scheme was poorly planned so we've had to bite the bullet and make this wholesale change.

Extracting the update over your old directory will NOT overwrite any of your current samples, so no need to change your VoiceAttack profile immediately, but the fixed audio responses are obviously there with a new name.

We hope you continue to enjoy our work and remember that we're the only pack with such a huge array of responses recorded by a professional voice actress, not read out by a computer.

UPDATE 17/8/2014
Version 2.2 available to download

v2.2 is uploading now and I've included a text file with a list of just the new samples (about 96 of them!)

This release concentrates on Flight assist HUD and targeting mainly, with some commands for the 'other team' (Star Citizen). Finally there's some responses as requested for things like increasing scanner range and ejecting cargo.

UPDATE 10/8/2014
Version 2.1 available to download

We have fleshed out the Engine control reponses and a bunch of more generic acknowledgements. All up this brings the pack to 560+ samples and we have a LOT more still to add.

If you want to hold off downloading, we'll have another similar sized update coming during the week, and probably two or three more after that as we get the samples processed.

We'd love to know how you're using the pack. So if you're streaming or uploading videos drop us a line here or on our Facebook page and we'll give you a plug. Of course, we appreciate a link back as well.

UPDATE 06/8/2014
I know some people were hanging out for a few fixes, so we've pushed hard and put out our v2.0 update. Emails will be going out shortly to everyone who has purchased the pack.

This update is the first of a series of updates that include all new samples recorded last weekend with our voice artist. We have also moved to a new naming convention. Faulty samples from earlier releases have been fixed and renamed.

UPDATE 03/8/2014
If you're following along you probably know that yesterday we went into the studio for another recording session with our super talented voice artist, Emma. She recorded another 15 pages of scripted responses for the VRC, that's as much again as the original recording session!

We've now got the huge job of tidying up that audio, and chopping it into individual samples so we can release our next major update to you. Stay tuned because we'll be releasing those this week.

UPDATE 20/7/2014
Wow.. almost two weeks since our last update. Things have been busy here, and we didnt have much left to add from the original recording session so just a small update today, we've added in numbers and a couple more 'movie' quotes. This is the last of the recordings from our original session.

Big news is that we have locked in another recording session with our voice artist. This means that a few of the original phrases will get re-recorded (seriously, we need your feedback on these) and a whole stack of new words and phrases will be added to the compilation. Recording takes place in the first week of August. More updates will follow after that.

thanks for supporting us!

UPDATE 07/7/2014
Wow, to make up for the quiet weekend I got stuck into adding samples tonight. I'm uploading the latest file as i type and it's now reached about 70Mb zipped. That's almost 400 samples to use! A few sci-fi quotes and tributes including Marvin, Holly (Red Dwarf and even Chris Roberts (This is Bull****!). I re-edited a couple more that I noticed may have been getting cut short and tweaked the volume on some of the earlier ones. I realised after uplaoding had started that I may have left a couple of duplicates in, so I'll tidy those up in a mini update later.

I've also updated the support email address, it's in the included readme if you need to get in touch.

UPDATE 01/7/2014
We're up over 300 voice samples now, and in response to a couple of request some more 'generic' ones are included! Thankyou to everyone who has spread word of the voice pack.

UPDATE 29/6/2014
Now there are over 230 audio files in the pack and I've got a LOT more coming!

RELEASED 28/6/2014
Our first VRC (Vocal Response Compilation) has been compiled!

What Else?
I've worked with professional voice acting talent to create this huge set of voice responses for Elite and other space sim games. We think it's pretty cool, and hopefully so will you.

This pack is in English, and has a female computer voice. I'll be releasing English Male, and Polish Female packs as well, but its a time consuming process!

Use this with Voice Attack for an awesome immersive experience. In fact a future update will include pre-made VA profiles for Elite and Star Citizen.

Anyone who buys this pack (and I'm charging VERY little for it) will get updates for free as long as I'm adding stuff.

It IS a work in progress, I'm releasing it early to get a feel for how it's received. You WILL get a LOT more audio files as I release updates.

Can I use the pack in my video/stream?
We're more than happy to see the pack used in videos and streams. Credit would be lovely, and if possible a link back to the Sellfy product page or our Facebook page. Also, let us know where it's being used and we'll do some posts on our Facebook page.

Where can I get support for using these voice samples?
Thee's a FAQ over on our homepage with a stack of answers, or you can PM me here on these forums. http://vrcompilations.com/.

Where Can I Find You?
We have a Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/VRComps

I have setup a support email address for bugs/questions: support at tglmultimedia.com

I'd love feedback on the pack, like I mentioned, a LOT more content is coming and you'll get an email with a download link for that as I update it.

Sounds great but for many people they want some examples before they commit to buy. I know I do. $3 sounds great, in fact a bargain but not if you then hate the voice and never use it.

As someone who has yet to set up VA but fully intends to, videos or examples of how to set it all go to leveraging your sales, so do it and do it soon. That way you can kill two birds with one stone. Give examples of the voice and show people how to make the most out of it as well.

Thanks for sharing, look forward to hearing more.

I'd also suggest that offering samples would be a good idea, it's a lot harder for someone to resist once they've heard the voice and find they really like it :)

Thanks for the feedback. I've been so busy doing the editing and recording etc that I havent had a chance to PLAY! But before i add more voices I'm going to record some Twitch streaming and make sure a good sampling of the voice can be heard.

In fact I might go touch up my VA profile now and get online!

I can confirm she sounds perfect! We have a download limit of 5 instances. Are you committed to using this portal therefore would you recommend we sign up to better manage future downloads and updates?? I hate registering for anything and everything but if you’re committed than so am I.

A quick and dirty YouTube video is now online here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpwseBI3HZc

I had some streaming issues and then my net dropped out so it was a very short gaming session, but I think her voice comes through nicely.

And I've now uploaded a list of the current responses

http://ufo-x.com/?attachment_id=76

I'll update that file as more get done. The recording is finished.. but the editing is time consuming!

Again, thanks for the feedback.

To be able to provide you with updates whenever they come out I needed a distribution portal that could manage that easily. I checked out a few, but this was the only one that made that part very simple.

It allows you 5 downloads, so you 'could' share that link with friends.

It ALSO will give you another 5 downloads each time I send you an update. (and yes.. I'll have one out in the next hour or so!)

So I guess I am committed to this portal unless someone points me towards a better digital distribution tool.

Thank you for responding. I understand and I agree with your rationale, you’re onto a winner with Sellfy. Thankfully I’ve signed up and found the process simple and clear-cut. Kudos for your continued efforts.

I cant hear your new voice(in VA)in the demo ,can hear normal response tho .any chance you can post any demos of the voice ? not in game

I assure you the quality and the voice is terrific, it’s not much risk at $3, in fact it’s grossly undervalued. I love the readily available options. Absolutely brilliant service, I truly recommend! Take care and Elite!

Thanks for this! I've been looking for a cool voice for both ED and SC :D

As for a little feedback:
Is it me or do some of the voices cut off a fraction too early?

I've never used (or even heard of) sellfy before and hesitated to register for it as the download link is provided without doing so. I did register in the end but it looks as if I'll just be provided (via email) with another download link when you update? ( and therefore no real reason to register?)

I'm trying to find out about the registration thing.

I believe your email is stored by the sale system and I should be able to send out updates to all purchasers, but I need to test this.

I will also do a better demo video. I was in a rush to get something done, so after I've added more samples today I'll repeat my efforts.

I'm hoping to get through another 50 or so samples today, bringing it up to over 200! I've tried to add as much flexibility as possible.

A new update has been released, we're up over 230 audio samples now!

Is it better for people if I update the first post or keep adding posst at the end?

I would like it if there was not a version number in front of the samples, being able to sort the list would be good.

The list.txt could be a version history instead.

One other thing, lots of things in the game are toggles, Flight Assist, Cargo Scoop etc but the voices are for either on or off, could we get some generic ones like just saying "Flight Assist" or something?

The files are roughly grouped into sections such as Navigation, Weapons, Shields and so forth and that is what the prefix numbers are there for, to keep the commands grouped.

I'm hesitant to change the names of existing commands as that may impact on people who are already using the pack, however I could provide an index of sorts.

eg 011 is Weapons Prefix.

Any updates to the actual files are NOT versioned, this is so they are a direct overwrite. If it's a variation of a file then it will have a suffix eg: 01, 02

That's good feedback. I personally use multiple commands so I can do an Off and an On, but I will include generic versions!

Oh, I had incorrectly assumed they were version numberings, if there is a pattern to them then that's fine and I'll figure out what they are :D

We've added 'Flight Assist' and some more generic style commands. There are a few more recorded and still to be edited and included but we will be looking at another recording session down the track to respond to feedback, so please dont stop making suggestions!
