Community Event / Creation Vocal Response Pack - English - Female

Well I'm not sure how many people will use them.. but they're in the next script :) We're slated to record a bunch of new stuff on August 2nd, so any suggestions need to come before then so I can get them on the script.

We'll also fix up any problems, but we're counting on you, the users to let us know what you want redone.

Our last update until the new recordings has just been uploaded to the Sellfy servers.

I purchased the VRP $3 pack, but not sure what to do with it to incorporate into voiceattack? I'm using a custom profile I d/l'ed - do i need to override the current sound files associated with this custom profile? Thank you for the help.

I guess you're highlighting why I need to find the time to write a proper instruction document.

basically ... yes.

1) Extract the sound files somewhere, it doesnt really matter where but you may want to keep it organised with your VA profiles if you're like me.

2) Then in VoiceAttack, load the profile you plan to use.

3) Click the Edit button (the figure with a pen)

4) Select a Command on the list and click Edit (or double click it)

5) if you see an Entry that says "Play Sound. ... " you can double click that entry to edit it's properties, such as choosing a new file to play or changing the volume.

6) If there is no 'Play Sound' action in the event sequence, click 'Other' which gives you a 'Select a Special Action' dialgue box. You can then choose 'Play a Sound' from the drop down list and go about adding the file you want to play.

7) When you've finished editing all the Spoken Commands you want responses for, Click 'Done' on the profile and VA is ready to start listening and talking back!

Now, for all the other VA users reading this, you may have further input. The above is going to form the basis of my Instructions, so if you think it needs more detail, feel free to chime in and I'll take it all and make a proper document of it.

Hope this has helped.

Helped immensely; thank you.

A very small update will be coming tomorrow with a few 'truncated' samples fixed.

If you've had the same problem with samples beng cutoff at the end please let us know what samples they are and we'll see if we can squeeze them into that update.

Also, check out our thread here: http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=27787

We're doing another recording session this coming Saturday and it's a last call for any additions to the script. So if we've missed something, or need to fix something, now is the time to speak up.

If anyone is interested in my VA profile that makes use of this I'm happy to make it available. Just speak up. Otherwise I'll wait until VA's next version with more features coems out and release a profile for that as a demo.

Got them? Contact me via a PM here if you still need assistance.

We're just about to head off and do the next recording, so when I get back I'll be sending out the profile to those who asked.

Hi!
Great work, I'm having lots of fun with the voice pack.
I came across samples being cut off to early or they end up with kind of click noise.
Actually there is a lot, I've checked just now the ones starting with 003 and the ones I see the issue are:
003_cancelling_supercruise
003_check_your_six_commander
003_entering_cruise_mode
003_exiting_cruise_mode
003_exiting_supercruise
003_heatsink_deployed
003_heatsink_fired
003_primary_fire_group_selected
003_running_cold
003_running_silent
003_secondary_fire_group
003_secondary_fire_group_selected
003_silent_running_mode_selected
003_systems_panel
003_targetting_panel
003_targetting_panel_selected
003_watch_your_heat_commander

anything that ends with 001 looks correct, so I can see you are already fixing things - thank you mate :)

Peter

Thankyou!!!

We've been alerted to the problem but been having trouble pinpointing which samples it was. Some of those got rerecorded over the weekend, and I think I know how to fix the others now.

The 003 sounds were among the first we edited and even though the samples do contain the full 'word' they are trimmed rigt to the end, which means that some audio players cut them off for some reason. What we're doing now is adding a tiny bit of silence to the end of each sample to account for that.

The 'clicking' you hear seems to be related to that as well.

Look out for an update tonight (Australian time) with a lot of new stuff and fixed stuff.

We're also migrating to a more user friendly naming convention (but wont rename any of the old samples just yet!)

Hi
I just downloaded the newest version, listen to typical samples I would use and they all look OK (maybe 008_flight_assist_01 ends tiny bit to early ;-) ).
I'm impressed with your work, and my only problem is instead of playing the game I'm configuring the VA, but maybe I will manage to finish it today and back to the space I go ;)

Thx again, best $3 I ever spent :)

Well thankyou! It means a lot to me, and to the voice artist to get the positive feedback we're hearing.

You think you have a problem... I've hardly been able to play since I started this thing!

When releasing new versions, can you provide a list of the new additions? I notice the latest release something 60-80 new files, but it's tedious for me to check which are new. Since you have to add them all them all to the list file, can you have a separate "new" file that lists the new additions in each version?

Would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, that's good feedback.

I'll see what I can do for the next update later this week. Should it be in the readme? or a separate changelog file?

The file dates should give you a good indication in the meantime.
