As it has probably been noticed already, after 2.2 I believe, we pilots, on the Xbox One, do not have that cool voice filter effect anymore (
https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...is_what_the_amazing_ingame_wing_voip_effects/).
So my question is: "why" and "is it going to be added again"?
I'm pretty sure it has not been disabled due to the amount of people arguing that they can't understand a thing, because, 1st. that's not entirely true - I, sometimes, have problems trying to understand an australian speaking, yet last time I spoke to one through elite dangerous wing chatter we managed to understand each other suprisingly well without any problems but the usual ones.
2nd. people can always join a party and not be limited to at the maximum 4 players in the chat (the same way people do on the PC by using Discord or TeamSpeak), so if they don't like it, they know they aren't forced to use it.
Now, I do believe, though, this has been disabled due to console limitation, since - if I'm not mistaken - old comms sounds were recognized as game sounds instead of actual players talking, therefore we had a serious delay in comms and also we could only hear players talking from the main sound output (normally the TV Speakers). Therefore, we couldn't listen to players through the xbox chat headset. This way, so xbox would recognize these sounds as players talking and not simple game sounds, they had to be changed to the default simple and clean type of communication we have on every other game, correct?
If so, devs, can we, console peasants, still hope that we will be having that nice comms filter again in our "not-so-next-generation-machine"? Or is the xbox simply too limited for such a simple feature to be ever available, forcing us to ask (in vain) for the mighty Microsoft to enable this feature through
https://xbox.uservoice.com/?
Or even, maybe, has this voice filter effect has been disabled for another unmentioned reason?
Thanks.
Archer.
