Voice macro

They already replied to my post. Unfortunately they don't have a way to import VA profiles. That makes things much harder for me.
Maybe the answer was given without thinking about what COULD be imported, assuming you would like to imported everything

Could be possible just importing the 'SAY Commands', the nested commands their calling would always be a problem as the structures between VA and VM are different

But the Vap's of Voice Attack are in XML and also can be exported as HTML so pulling out the 'Say Commands' ONLY one would think is difficult, but not impossible.

Lest that way its a start. Could try asking for that :)

You know what else does this, and most of us probably have already? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17208/windows-10-use-speech-recognition

Windows 10.

Yep, Speech Recognition is built right in and it even works.

Years ago, I had a program called InCube, which allowed for voice automation. It stopped being cool after about 30 minutes. It was uninstalled after about 3 days. Seems it hard a hard time telling me from a character on a show I use to watch, and I got tired of it turning the lights on and off, and turning my music player on and off.. so yeah, enough of that.

I don't know about the program the OP is using, but VoiceAttack relies on the Speech Recognition built into Windows. You have to do the Windows SR training to get it to recognize your commands effectively.

As far as the usefulness of of something like VA:
  • I can manage my pips faster than any human can possibly key the change in.
  • (with HCS VoicePacks) I can tell it to "Target Powerplant" and it will cycle through all the subsystems until that is targetted for me
  • (with HCS VoicePacks) I get friendly reminders about fuel levels
  • (with HCS VoicePacks) It adds to the immersion and provides humor

I have real friends too. We play Elite together. And at least two of us use VA + Voicepacks while playing. [big grin]

Anything VA can do Voice Marco can do. If you ever tried to import One Command into VA only to be told NO as it's reliant on other commands. Voice Macro can do that, as its better at managing profiles

There's a lot of new working going on in the background with VM, it's been improved to work with Elite Dangerous with all the bell and whistles players find in other Voice Software, along with a New API Plugin which is available now.

The new systems been developed for VM is something you'll have to look out for, I'll let those Dev's speak for their own work

As for the Voice pack, not my idea of fun, as I find the chatter annoying. but each to his own :)

I don't doubt that anything VA can do, Voice Macro can do. Voice Attack, in and of itself, is pretty basic. It's the plugins/scripts others develop for it that make it particular useful for Elite Dangerous.

All the HCS VoicePacks come with the Singularity Profile and a plugin that reads output from the game. All necessary commands are prescripted. It is also set to read in your keybinds and gives you the option to let it quickly generate keybinds for anything you have bound already (e.g. "Next System in route"). That's where the real benefit comes in.

So far it looks like Voice Macro is equivalent to just VoiceAttack. If it has extra functionality for ED pre-built, great.

More options is always good.

P.S. When the "chatter' is done well scripted and with great Voice Actors, it's great! I will not give up Orion (William Shatner) and Eli (John DeLancey) anytime soon.

Does it work everytime, for every ship?

Yes.

So far, this feature hasn't broke (been around for six months or so). Other minor features break from time to time, usually due to game updates, but then they fix them later.

From my understanding, Voice Attack using HSC with the players Journal logs only, means the system can fail.

Whereas Voice Marco is using both the players Journal and the API with Frontier getting real time updated information which is critical to maintaining sync with Ships systems

Now you are starting to get me interested...

I'm honestly not sure. I've had some issues with their "coding" at times, so Voice Macro might be a better fit. I'll be curious to see how it turns out.

Ive tried EDDiscovery and the Voice side is in early stages yet works out of the box and is improving.

One of the numerous benefits of Voice Marco is the use of third party plugins, other Dev's whom I'm in contact with, are working to see if their current ED plugins, can be reworked to work with Voice Marco for the benefit of Elite dangerous players when there's more news, I'll let everyone know.

Having more choices for players in Voice Software is important and the work of EDDiscovery and its free voice-control plugin is greatly appreciated

Not exactly early out of the box. EDD voice recognition is over a year old!

Voice recognition on windows is very temperamental - you need to train it well and have the room completely silent - that means earphones. Otherwise it just is not accurate enough.

Locking thread; Any Question about Voice Marco go to this Site

There will be a new Thread in the future about Voice Marco by the Dev's involved in the development.

When Dev's are ready to release their updated work for Elite Dangerous which will be soon.
