VR Help Please

From what I remember, the vr presets mostly changes the ambient occlusion, supersampling and HMD-q settings.
It leaves pretty much everything else near the same levels as low and medium are.

Ambient occlusion, supersampling and Hmd-q are the three most intensive settings you can tweak for a gpu, personally I got AO on low, anything above is not really worth the hit.
Supersampling I leave at 1, then adjust HMD-Q after preference.

So new rig is in and had a play around with it last night. Fair to say the immersion was awesome!

I'd now like to improve the graphics as I was expecting with a RTX 2060 to get a crisper image, currently although i have it on Ultra VR it still looks like SD quality. Is the advice in the announcement on 'optimising' section still valid? Or is there a better guide to follow to improve settings?

Cheers

Also remember that "Ultra VR" is going to be set to lower quality than Ultra desktop, so it could be that the presets they use really will leave it at SD quality. VR is very taxing on a machine, so they err on the side of caution there. Also the presets were likely put together before more modern rigs came around. You can probably play with the settings to get a better looking image.

By way of crispness, it's also important to judge the headset itself as well. My understanding is that the Oculus Go does have a little bit of difficult with blurriness because of how its lenses are set up, so that could also contribute. But I'd first labor under the impression that the in-game settings just aren't optimized correctly using default presets. Lord knows I fiddled with mine like crazy to get it where I wanted it lol

Additional note: just got off work so I popped into the game and set it to VR Ultra just to see what it would look like. The game looked like . Really terrible, which is odd because I had been running a modified version of VR medium that looked great. I started poking around and realized it had turned Anti-Aliasing on, and set it to SMAA. I turned AA off and it looked great again.

Try turning off AA if you haven't already.
