VR Performance tanking

So after a long session last night, I can report 0 change - at least with 4 / 512. Perhaps some scope for higher numbers. Will try this when I next get a chance.

I've tried everything suggested and no dice. The game plays like a 3 legged dog. It can be overlooked, but even on the lowest settings possible there is some hitching and stutter from time to time and in my view there should be none. How people claim to be playing on SS 1.5 or even 1.3 using the Oculus debug tool is beyond me.

I'm currently running 1.5 both in game and debug with virtually everything high and is silky smooth on Titan XP. not been to a res in a while so will see how that goes

Just happened to come across your thread. Registered so I can try and help. Over at the iRacing forum many VR users were complaining about the same momentary hitching. The solution was to rollback the nVidia drivers to 368.81 or 368.95. Anything newer than that was causing hitching and stutter, especially on 1080 cards. Try it and see if it helps your issue.

Hi all,

My specs are, 1000W Corsair PSU, i7 6700K @ 4.6 GHz, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and an ASUS GTX 1080 STRIX...
I've got the same specs and a CV1, also getting stutter in RES sites. Most of the time it's when I'm in the middle of the ring, surrounded by asteroids. And the strange thing is that it's only when maneuvering the ship. Stationary I can look around and get no stutter. Will play around with settings to see if there's something in particular causing it. Maybe it's loading new geometry so I'll try the draw distance first.

Agree - driver rollback is a good idea. I think I'm using the 368.95 driver.
