Guys - major headaches over weekend, after a great start with Drkaii all my key bindings, X52 and voice attack commands started acting up and I was unable to fly. After un-installing and setting up everything again from scratch and test test test - still no joy. As a last resort I took bottom covers off X52 controllers for a look. I didn't think it could be that because I had already hot glued the wire in the joystick tube due to some chaffing. Sure enough the cluster in the throttle were chaffed too. Finally everything is redone and fingers crossed ready to go. X52 has had some serious use since November but nothing excessive or too aggressive (bad design). A lost weekend to tinkering and not playing, and now I am getting earache along the lines of 'you are on that game again' - 'it's an obsession' - 'we never spend time together any more'. I am taking a short break from the RIFT - I have a bad neck and shoulder probably from ED/DK2 related RSI, but will join you all again as soon as time and Mrs Zulu will allow. It's good to know I have some friends to team up with now and share my pain. Good luck with the community goals.BeeZee

Shenzhen is a fantastic city. Been many times and will be coming back soon. Also want to time a visit for computex in Taipei which I think is in June. You can fly from bao an to TP in about 90 mins and it's not too expensive either.
I'm hoping to see the vive and crescent bay with any luck.

My Cmdr name is also tinimark (i think) but i've never ventured out in to open play or groups yet so I might not be showing up.
I also spent most of this weekend tweaking so didn't have much play time. Finally got VA set up but you were right about the mic, i think it will have to be a headset which is a pity cos my speaker system is ace.
Any recommendations on a very high quality surround headset with mic?

I doubt it's that. Double check because you aren't showing up.
And as for surround sound, no I have no recommendation about a headset (you'll want to do your own research and go as expensive as your budget allows)，but it's not the headset that produces the surround effect, it's the soundcard or any device that puts surround channels into a stereo headset. Have faith. It works extremely well. So you can invest in a very good normal headset and get the signal processing done separately. I personally use a DSS2, but it needs optical and a card that supports Dolby Digital Live, but there are loads of ways to accomplish this
I personally wouldn't be interested in a wings "private group"... as one of the main reasons I am interested in being in a wing... is to team up against wanted players to go kick their butt in pvp. (orrrr... BECOME wanted.. and go pirate together?)

That's why I've said that it's just currently there for futureproofing. If it gets like 100 people, then chances are it will still be good for that. Idk why but knowing the pirate robbing me is using the rift will just make it that much more awesome (and irritating).
And yes, 8 hours man. Good times that can never truly be. That moon at Epsilon Indi was something else and bounty hunting with both our vultures is the best fun I've had so far in ED
Yea, that was great at the RES in the dual vultures (and our young friend in his new cobra)... and The Epsilon Indi moon experience was flat-out bizarre!
The problem with a 100 member private group.. is that you just won't see anybody. It will be like solo. Id rather get your vulture up to spec, and go smack down on some players causing problems for traders. If we get hit with a nasty rebuy... eeh.. no biggy.
Yeah my thoughts exactly. That's my current self-set goal - get a good ship and take it with you to Lave or Ussze and bounty hunt some s (if we can get a specific person that'd make my day
)The private group isn't for that. It's for people who want to just take a break from that. Like go looking at bizarre moons etc, have a bit of fun. You can just have it to log in when you feel like it.
BTW speaking of bizarre, next time you got a moment and we are both playing, lets go to Ross 780. If found something there that's just as insane. And it's extremely challenging too...

I should actually say, Roj Blake found it. We were on an exploration survey and he was picking the destinations. He came up with it.

I never considered before to have a chance to see the VR Prototypes at an Exhibition in Taipei. Had just the ones in US in my mind and was a little bit disappointed that I couldn't get there so easy. Thank you for the hint!
