Ok so I bought everything, the Horizons season Pass, the Commander Deluxe Edition... That includes everything.

But it don`t include the beta, that`s what I`m going to get anyway?

So I have to pay extra for a Beta of what i`m going to get anyway and already paid for?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA[haha]

So how do I get this Beta without having to pay extra for it? Seriously now.

No it doesn't.

Only way you get beta is if you paid for beta in some form. There were two Horizons versions initially, with beta and without beta, a tenner different, maybe you got the beta one.

For that you will have access to the beta for 2.3 and 2.4 and that's it.

Up to you really, I mean it's ok being able to see things early, but it's not a big deal really, just looks it until you get access and then you're like "oh ok yeah I could have waited".

But it's only a fiver, so £2.50 for 2.3 beta and £2.50 for 2.4 beta.

Tl-dr: The answer to the thread is YES you have to pay for it.

The reason: Kickstarter had one of the rewards as beta access, its an additional (albeit low) source of funding for FDev and making it free would result in all the extra purchases being meaningless.

Horizons as a product was sold as a pre-order with and without beta access originally until release.

Some betas are open and available to all like 1.4 CQC was for the last part. Most betas are closed access. This has been discussed at length on many many many other threads.


You cannot get the beta without paying.

I see some new players of The Entitlement Game. Spoiler alert, I win.

Now we have that settled, dial your entitlement levels down a bit, either pay a mere £5 to access the Beta or don't. Nobody is forcing you to. You won't miss anything anyway, as it'll all be in the main game in a few weeks.

There used to be a time where you had to be friends with the developers, promise your first born, strip naked and say "Thank you Sir, may I have another", so be grateful all you need now is £5.

I see. So most of you are happy with this. Let me explain my side:

It`s not about entitlement. It`s not about how cheap it is. I can afford it easily.

It`s about charging people for something they`ve already paid for. And the fact that you all knew about this doesn`t help us recent newer guys.

But the main point again is, it`s simply not right. I don`t care how you try to reason it away. It`s ripping people off for something they already paid a fair bit of cash for. If you`ve bought EVERYTHING like I have, including the beta you`re going to get anyway, then it makes complete and logical commonsense that you wouldn`t be charged for a beta of it.

How can anyone have a hard time understanding that? Wow, they really did a number on some of you.

Unruddybelievable.

And yes, I will wait. The Devs will not get one single extra penny from me this ripoff.

In a Court of Law with any other product this would be considered malpractise and the company fined. I kid you not.

Anyone else watching and thinking about buying the full game and season pass- BE WARNED.

If you bought the beta already you have access.

Should be here like in the image below... (UI is a bit awkward you have to scroll down with the tiny scrollbar)

Really the only time Beta is interesting is when they have new toys you want to try before you buy it in release. I agree with the above, it's better that you get to choose which Betas to get (or not)..
