Datamined Wake Exceptions Encoded Very rare ---- Just realized that I have never seen these and I really need them for my FSD.

I am collecting these by having Mac Scan DD's wake when going to the next system on our exploration search. I have this pretty much automated with a VA command.

Turns out DD also needs the VERY RARE. looks like they come in bunches of 3 so I think I should only need to find it one (twice to get one for each commander) time to upgrade 3 FSD's

Now to decide which ones..

I am thinking that for most interchangeability, a 4A and a 5A for each Commander to start since those class FSD seem to be very common sizes for medium and small ships and even some Large ships use the 5A.
 
Well, unless I have missed something, I don't think I need it immediately. I am unclear about whether it is possible to go straight to the Level 5 upgrade or I have to do the upgrades in sequence.

Then there is the matter of how small the difference is between level 4 and level 5 improvement.

Also the matter of how much extra power is required to run the level 5 vs the level 4.

Looks to me like in order to be able to actually run a Level 5 engineered FSD I will need a level 3 engineered Power plant and/or Power distributor or both depending on the original class or each on the ship.

You have to do all the prior upgrades on a module before you can do level 5. This does not mean max them out, but you need to get to about 75% of max. It seems to take 3-4 rolls to get a module good enough to take the next level, fewer if you have a good reputation with the engineer.
