Just got my rift last week... wow.
I was already absolutely amazed with how real it feels but it wasn't until the end of my first session that I got the most amazing sense of immersion. I had been playing for a while and felt like stretching my legs, so I did what I would normally do... but forgot to take the rift off...
...I stood up.
Sounds silly but I wasn't prepared for how real it would feel as I stood up in my eagle. So I tested things a little further, and walked into the hallway behind the pilots seat (thank god for the long cable on the rift!). Must have spent half an hour just walking from one side of the cockpit to the other, peering out of the canopy ay nearby asteroids as the ship gently rolled, saturn massive in the distance.
I had tried a dk1 in the past, but the addition of positional tracking to the dk2 has made things so much more real!
