CGs do end once they hit Tier 8, right?
Usually Tier 8 but some have had higher tiers in the past. However, the answer is basically yes, they complete when they hit the top tier or the time elapses. Payouts are much better if the top tiers are hit...

Well actually the final tier number varies with CG type, Bounty Hunting tend to be Tier 10. Directly opposing CGs both stop when the first is finished.
Due to the frequency of checking if you get a strong surge of hand ins at the end they can go over the value set.
The Empire one is likely to end shortly if it hasn't already.

Then the Obotrima Empire should be ending in a few hours. It was about 3/4 of the way to Tier 8 when I checked this morning. I managed to get my total up to just shy of 3K tons delivered, still good enough to stay in the top 25%. We'll see if that holds up to the end.
It did the trick - top 25%. Cha-CHIIIIING! [cool]
Think I might hang out here a bit longer and give the Federation some love now.

The Empire CG has completed, the payouts were:

I cashed in my 13.8 M credit ticket, hung around Obotrima long enough to throw a few tons of skimmer components the Federation's way (160 tons put me in the top 75%) and then went on a shopping spree.
That money was enough for me to almost completely outfit Lydia (my Cobra) for an exploration trip (still have a couple of items I'm thinking over there), buy and completely outfit a T-6 (named Caroline), and still end up +5 M credits in the bank. I got lucky with the outfitting - I was able to buy everything but the 4A thrusters, the 4C bi-weave shield generator and the 4A FSD at the station where I bought Caroline, and didn't have to go very far at all to pick up those items.
First impressions of the T-6 - a very nice little ship. Much quieter inside than the Cobra, and a very clean cockpit with good visibility. Got a couple of launches and dockings in without smearing her all over the stations. I'll jump back into rares trading with her tomorrow and run a few cycles.

Just had a look at the new CGs, and what a coinky-dink, there just happens to be an exploration one, and I just happened to kit out my Cobra for a trip to the Black.

my first CG was great. About 10 runs in a Type-6 Earned me 2,700,000 CR for the Skimmer Components to Thoreau Orbital CG.

I wanted to give an update on the current exploration CG.
It's currently at Tier 3, minimum reward so far is 200K credits. I parked my T-6 and picked up my explo-Cobra, then went to Obotrima to collect my reward for the small Federation contribution I made toward the last CG. I then set out for Pre-Logistics Support Gamma in Pleiades Sector 1H-V C-25 from there, plotting an economical route (65 jumps). I piddled around some making my way out, scanning the stars and every now and then doing detailed scans on bodies that weren't too far away and looked interesting, mostly as practice for serious exploration and to get a handle on how the ship was going to do.
I turned in a total of 69 reports (I had a few from previous honks before I started) totaling over 800K worth of data, and that was good enough to put me in the top 25% of the CG (reward currently stands at 2.4 M for that). Also raised my exploration rank from 24% toward Trailblazer to 79%.
If you want to explore, hop on in! The station is an outpost though, so you'll want your smaller ships.

Update - just did a jump and honk loop, and turned in another 102 reports for a total of 171. Good enough for top 10% and Trailblazer rank.
And I managed to get my first one of these as well. Yeah, it's a useless little Class L star 5,000 ls from the entry point with a few equally useless chunks of rock and ice flying around it, but it is my first.

Just a quick update....
The Colonia Connection CG, runing out of Love Orbital in Latugara system is still running and is on-track to reach it's goal of tier 6 in the not-too-distant future.
I just today started a new commander and by dropping off 16tonnes of computer components I find myself in the top 75% bracket of rewards which is currently almost 2.7Million Credits.
The minimum reward payout is 800,000 at the moment and that should go up.
EDIT - P.S. There is another trade CG "in the bubble" as well as a CG way out yonder, both still on the go.
