Warning:- Elite: Dangerous is addictive!

Warning! Elite:- Dangerous is addictive :D.

I have been playing it constantly since the beginning of Gamma (when I bought it), especially during the week of Christmas (I took the week off work) and despite having a few new games to play, all I've played (when not doing Christmas stuff) is ED.

I'm having lots of fun playing it and I haven't had this much enjoyment out of a game for ages. For the number of hours I've been playing it I think I've got my money's worth considering you can spend the same amount of money on a lot of games these days and only get around 8 hours game play (if you're lucky).

It's nice having a game where your hand isn't held, with sometimes harsh consequences, lol, and you're still learning or discovering new things despite the time you put into the game.

The servers have been really stable and the only 2 bugs that have affected me are the in-game comms not working and the landing pads misbehaving (number lights disappearing).

I realise we are the beginning of the journey with ED, with more content to come, tweaks to be made and bugs to fix, but I have been really happy with ED so far and I look forward to what's to come. Thank you Frontier Developments!

Sadly I have to return to work tomorrow, whereas all I want to do it hop back into my Cobra :D.

Man ive been waiting for other ppl to catch on to this +1 rep for you this game is great and i cant wait to see what instore for fixes, updates and content.

Since I'm a major open world gaming geek, a game like Elite Dangerous is like crack for me. I actually played the original and it's various sequels back in the day - and loved it. I use to dream of the day that Elite would be redone and turned into a more up to date version and when I heard that Braben was doing an online version I was on this super gaming high for weeks. What kills me is that it seems like just yesterday that they announced the making of it - how happy do you think I am that we're actually playing it!!! Hell yeahs! I am playing Elite on a gaming rig that makes the Commodore Computer, I first played it on, seem like a digital watch - and the graphics just melt my brain.

I love games like this. I cannot wait to see where David Braben takes this now...but one thing is absolutely certain for me - I am bigger fan than ever and will be here as Elite Dangerous grows and expands. OMG we're playing a modern version of Elite!!! HOW FRAKING COOL IS THAT?!! :D

the golden era of PC gaming 2.0 has arrived

This is so true!

My computer has just developed a fault and I can't get it fixed until the New Year. Withdrawal symptoms are severe!!

The only game I have played in a month. For a month. All month. For two months.
I triiied. I really did, I tried to play a different game and I shut it off and came running back to my Asp.
I turned down KSP, my favorite game of all time. I turned KSP on and could not do it, I had to fly my sci-fi ship. I had to do another run, another bounty, another conflict zone.
I am excited for the future of this great foundation. With great care and devotion this game can evolve to a masterpiece.

EAT SLEEP ELITE REPEAT.

I had a really enjoyable day today. Working for the Mob just makes everything so complicated and enthralling. Being approached to swap sides and sometimes taking the job and other times blowing them away just makes things so unpredictable its great.

The dynamics in the game are amazing.

I actually have to thank Frontier for their maintenance schedule starting at 11PM my time, makes my sleep pattern more regular.

As an Alpha backer, I've been playing this ongoing 'work-in-progress' for over a year now, I'm still not bored and I'm still playing far more than any other game. Which must make me either a) stoopid, b) pathologically insane or c) both to a large segment of current forum users. :)

Today I made a nice cut I changed my fully equipped Asp for a lightweight Adder. Instead of bounty hunting I'm now hunting unexplored systems. I was getting bored of fighting in the same locations over and over again. Now I'm sightseen and searching for G2 star systems.
