Warning: Hard limit for 6000 guests and parks are smaller than PlanCo1

It's a bit odd. It seems like during normal play once the time hits park close the game basically fast forwards through the bulk of the night to the next morning's opening time. I can't remember if this was the case in PC1 but additionally it seems like the park close time is now earlier than it was in PC1 so those things compound to make it seem like there is less night time overall. But as far as I can tell you can still lock the time to be at any point during the night if you want to play during the night with all the pretty lights etc.

You're right about PC1 fast-forwarding through closed times.
I hope that's the case . Most parks in the US open about 9/10/11am and stay open until about 9/10pm unless there's a special event going on (Halloween, Christmas, etc.), and then they're open until midnight or so. So, I hope we can still change open/close times. If not, that's almost a deal breaker for me.

If the planco 2 maps are 250x250 grids then it's bigger then most of the maps in Planco 1. So the map size should not be an issue if this is true.

Also im fairly sure the guest limit is for console only, just like the Oswald counter. Having a cap on PC just doesn't make sense.

I hope you're right but for now it's also in the PC version.

As @Inspector G. said... Communication is key and that's missing completely now.

Whilst the maps did feel smaller when I loaded them, I checked and they're the same size as the Planet Zoo maps (250 by 250 grid pieces). I don't know what it used to be for Planet Coaster, but the maps in Zoo aren't small so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Oh, okay, that is comforting indeed.

a 6k Limit on PC is a reason for me to NOT buy the game.
Why did I buy a powerful PC when I get limitations here.

Any official statement regarding this point?

Total silence. It's as if they're keeping quiet until after launch. After all, if you play for more than two hours, you're not getting a refund.

I've watched some campaign scenario playthroughs and in the menu for advertising campaings, the description states that the ad campaigns boost the "daily returning visitor" numbers.

I guess 6000 per day is indeed the max amount of new guests and in combination with the returning (probably staying) guests you will get higher numbers. Depending on size and rating of your park and impact of running ad campaigns.

Just a guess, based on ingame descriptions from gameplay videos of course. But if this is actually the case, I'd say i might somewhat like the basic idea. If the limit is too low is of course a different topic and depends on how it plays out in practise in larger parks. We'll see that when the time comes.

Official information! (+ about seperate load/unload stations and music/sounds/billboards)

Does the guest cap also apply to PC, what affects it and why is it there? If it is on PC as well will it be removed from PC in a future update?

We have set a guest cap of 6000 guests to create the best experience in terms of performance for our players at launch. We will be continuing to analyse and evaluate player hardware feedback regarding this topic post-launch.

There is no timeframe when this will come though. Could be very well years down the line.

If they are gonna fix it ASAP, as in maybe next week, MAYBE before December... Then sure, okay, we can live with it. But if they wait months or even years you will be long done with the game.

No offend but that is not how development cycles work. The first updates will fix bugs and possible performance issues. Every computer system has different components with their own specifications. As a developer you have to iron out the kinks first, for as much combinations as possible, before you open the gates (in this case, guest numbers). So of course it will take a while before the priority list is finished and a stable state is reached :)

They should just add an Pop-up message: "when you raise the limit above 6000 guests, this might cause performance issues" - that would be WinWin for everyone, players can't complain about bad performance with to many guests, but will be able to go above the limits.

Maybe there is a way we can change these limits ourselves maybe using cheatengine or something? Who knows..

It just bad practise what they are doing. You would say they have learned from the first games. A lot of limits. Some got lifted years down the line. Now they do the same....

The park sizes are actually a bit larger than PC1 according to someone who commented on Steam. They measured a tropical park in PC1 and PC2. But looks are deceiving. The park size initially looks small in PC2 but there are maxed out blank parks on the workshop so that you can use all the available space. There are unfinished Carowinds and Six Flags Great Adventure parks on the workshop and it's apparent that those parks will just fit on a PC2 map. I think Great Adventure is 500 acres but I think that includes the safari and waterpark. PC1 parks were like 160 acres. I wish though that they would have made an editor like RCT3 where we could make our own landscape, flat even with no hills or mountains around the skirt. The skirts cannot be altered or removed.
